How far to Florida Mall?

How far away is the Florida Mall and what is the best way to get to Universal from there? Mapquest has you traveling on the turnpike to I-4. Is the Florida Mall area busy? Is there another way to get to Universal from there? We are staying one night via priceline at a hotel in that area. I am not familiar with that area of Orlando and am hoping someone can help. Thanks!

The mall may be about a 20-25 minute drive depending on traffic. I think the best way to go would be to get on SandLake and head towards Kirkman Road. Make a right onto Kirkman & stay until you see the enterance for Universal. You do not need to go on any turnpike or I-4.
