Let me put it this way - even the plain spaghetti noodles with plain spaghetti sauce on the buffet weren’t good.
It’s been a couple of years, but I remember the Hideaway-only restaurant (or maybe it was Diamond Club only?) being decent. Everything else, our highest compliment was “this is edible!” Again not trying to be a wah-wah-wahhh on your trip - you may love it with appropriate expectations!
Oh and definitely get your drinks from the Hideaway/Diamond Club bars - much better liquor choices than what’s at the regular bars.
This is the only Royalton I’ve been to, although with my younger DS (who is a senior this year), we are going to Royalton Bavaro, right next door. Fingers crossed (and snacks packed!) for a good trip!
Also I do want to reiterate that the resort is lovely, and the beach is gorgeous (according to folks who’d also been to the Hyatt Zilara), it was much better than the beach there. And the casino is tiny but was tons of fun.
