Maybe we just need to have a FL meet, at WDW, of course!!!Hey, we are in Palm Harbor (don't know if you remember). I have always lived on the Gulf side of Florida and I really like it best. One of my friends from Jersey says it's like bathwater and prefers the Atlantic. I guess we are lucky either way!
Somebody posted this *darling* Jojo halter & twirl outfit a day or two ago. It's to die for! I'm not making a Jojo set, but I'd like to use a similar color scheme for something else. I was wondering if anybody knew where I could find the blue with lime dot fabric used in this skirt. Thanks so much!
Hello....I'm new to this thread. I've been trying to read through it for days and can't seem to find the end. It's addictive..yes, addictive I say!! In any case, forgive me if this info has already been posted, but I really wanted to share my latest purchase from the Disney Store.
I just bought a pair of ladies stretch denim jeans, with Minnie Mouse painted down one leg. The jeans can also be viewed at DisneyShopping.com. They really remind me of some of the cute handpainted childrens' clothes I've seen on Ebay. We need cute clothes too, ladies!! As an added bonus, the jeans ran big and I had to buy 2 sizes smaller than I normally wear. Yes Virginia, there is a size tag fairy!
PS - It's wonderful to know I'm not the only one having crazy fun dressing my DD in boutique/custom Disney clothes!!!
Good Evening! Or should I say early morning! Is it really this late???????
I got DD's next outfit done! Whew! All I can say is thank goodness the seam ripper was invented!
I really need to pratice my applique technique. It looks o.k. from a distance squinting with one eye closed in a VERY dark room!
This is the top:

I hate my letter "Q" Blech!
I really need to practice inside curves and circles!

I just love those kids of pictures! We live on the complete opposite coast over in St. Pete, but we just LOVE going to the beach to play in the water and watch the sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico!!!
Any other FL girls on here???
Hi Amy, I don't have a picture of the back of this one...but let think...For this one, it doesn't have a back bodice, it has a strip of fabric that was folded over and elastic was inserted. The straps were finished off on the edges and pinned into place on the back. Then I just carefully stitched them into place above the elastic and below where the strip, meets the dress. If you are careful and just stitch over where you already sewed then it's not noticable. and the good thing is, that you can remove the straps with a seam ripper and move them, as the child grows, to get a liitle more wear out of the outfit. I will try to post photos of another outfit that I did that is the same...if I can find a back picture...The cow outfit just got mailed to
CampingGriswalds today...LOL
Here are a few I had taken to send to someone. They aren't great up close shots, but they might give you a better idea on the construction of the corset. Let me know if you want me to take better pictures of anything specific.
I think the coins are cute. I saw packages of them at Walmart near the ribbon section. HTH!

I still need to add buttons and button holes, Yikes! I am skeered to try this, I might just mess up the whole thing!
The reason why did a duck themed outfit is that I am meeting up with some friends from the DIS in Baltimore in a few weeks. We are all planning on doing the duck tour! So while this is not a Disney themed outfit, it will be viewed by my Disney friends!
O.k. off to get some sleep!

Here's one I have that's sort of upclose. Does that help any? What part of the closure do you want to see?
I will take some more pics tomorrow. The corset is really not as rigid as I thought it would be, which for DD was good. I was concerned about it being uncomfortable, but it really doesn't look it when its on. It's maybe the thickness of denim just to give you an idea....it does have some body, but it allows her to bend and move, too. I hope that makes a little sense.

This isn't one of my DDs, but my niece who was "modeling" the finished product before my mom (Nana) sent them to the girls. I was so excited, I just couldn't wait for them to just be mailed!!
I don't have a pic of the back, but it has a zipper up the back, with a red/white polka dot tie in the middle of the back. Really cute!
I stayed up way to late smocking last night. This is really going to be a practice makes perfect kind of project. I started practicing cable stitches. The first row is a mess. I figured it out after I finished. Then I did the second row. I was not making my stitches even and tight enough at first.
Then I started the waves. The first wave was not long enough I may end up cropping that row out. The border is for the Mermaid smocking plate that will end up being Ariel!
Here is the first look.
Here is a pic of my dd - this is the polka dot dress from walmart - I just appliqued on a mickey head and re-used the bow on the dress for minnie's bow. The flip flops I bought at old navy and made the bows from ribbon I bought at walmart - thanks for all the tips on this thread!!
Could you tell me how to make the flip flops?? Love them
Can you share with us how she gets the red scarfs on the Pirate Mickeys?
Please Pretty Please?
I am trying to make one of those and the only thing I can figure out is sewing it on by hand. I love her pirate Mickey Heads they are so cute
