PodCast 4.0 Chit Chat

Good Morning Everyone !!! It's still raining here...not a lot, but just enough to make it nasty. I saw on the news this morning that Boston is getting snow....guess Phil was wrong this year.

Good morning! Rain/snow here in MD (near PA). Thinking about warm Florida weather. Have a great day!

Looks like the skies are a bit clearer here in Tampa today. Wed & Thurs most of Central Florida had Tornado Warnings, but it seems like the weather has cleared up some...have blue, slightly cloudy skies and a forcasted high of 80ish. And it's Friday, so that is nice too.

Let's hope that nice forcast goes through next week when I'm there :goodvibes

Hi Cheri! I am really wanting to surprise my husband and book this cruise. My only dillema is school for the kiddos. I am really leaning towards it! I would love to meet everyone. Talk me into it! What did you enjoy the most on your other cruise? Thanks! Buffie

Maine is getting the kind of snow that I hope we do not get on the day that I fly to Florida to go on a cruise December 2012.

Heavy, wet, windy. Did I mention heavy, wet and slippery? And accumulating at a good rate.

I am so glad I live in an apartment and I do not have to shovel this heavy, wet stuff!

Apparently some parts of the country haven't heard that it is now APRIL!

Hey, Lyn - did you decide to change to a different deck?

Hi Buffie !!! and Welcome. Wow...there's so much to say about cruising with Disney.....PCC 2.0 was my first cruise ever. The first memory was the size and beauty of the ship (can't wait to see the Fantasy). I can't say there was anything that I enjoyed the most, because the entire thing was awesome. All the podcast cruisers were given lanyards, and it was cool to see people walking around wearing them. It was a lot of fun to meet other DISers...especially the ones that I had been chatting with over the year.

The events the Podcast Team put together were wonderful. The food was wonderful...and the service from the CMs.....you get spoiled !!!! Castaway Cay is a beautiful island...we had planned a glass bottom boat tour, but it got cancelled because of the weather. So we walked around until lunch....then the Podcast Team held a lunch for just us DISers...the food was great.

The ship has so many things you can do....from several shops, cafes, the spa, fitness center, pools and hot tubs, movies, shows, bingo.......oh and fireworks one night too !!!

How am I doing so far ???? As I think of things, I'll come back and edit this post...hope you see you there.

So far, so good. The unofficial stuff was as fun as official podcast stuff. Adult-only is enforced. And no smoky casinos. [Not against smokers, but smoke has nowhere to go.]

Hi everyone, my name is Lauren. I'll be taking the cruise with my husband, Danny, and our son who will be 5 by the time we sail. It's our first cruise and our first podcast event, so we're really excited. I've been dreaming about doing a Disney Cruise for years and years and it's finally timing out right that we can go! Looking forward to the next year and a half of planing and getting to know people. I'm not really a boards type person (more Facebook if anything), but I'm giving it a shot :P

Wonderful, we look forward to meeting you and your family. Keep a watch on these threads, as the time passes, non Podcast events will form, and then you can look to see if any of them interest you. I'm on facebook, if you want friend me, feel free...

Hey, Lyn - did you decide to change to a different deck?

Not yet. Maybe I am waiting for my sister to help me decide. Pretty sure we want to stay near the top. Although deck two saves enough money to pay for Palo brunch and dinner.

I was thinking that if I was half way between deck 11 and deck 3&4, I would take the stairs, not the elevator. Who am I kidding? Deck 8 or 9, I would most likely take the elevator most of the time to get to meals rather than walk four flights if stairs!

So, maybe just stay out on 9. I am hoping for pleasant weather and we will want to go topside.

This is one thing my sister will like. On her Carnival cruise, too many of the adult places were way too smoky.

Liz is not especially a Disney person. I really want her to like the Disney cruise and the classic beauty of the ship. I want her to like the Broadway style shows, even if they are not Les Miz or Phantom. I hope she won't think it is too family oriented, or worse, kiddie.

I hope I can stop trying so hard to hope she likes it.

Liz is doing a Med cruise this August on a brand new Carnival ship. I am sure it will be very deluxe, perhaps glitzier than a Disney ship. It will interesting to compare.

Hi everyone, well weather wise Las Vegas is heading to summer 80 degrees today, lovely before it gets too warm.

I'm new to Disney cruise; What is FE exchange?

Outside of every cabin is a metal fish (F). A multi pocket (in most cases) receptacle is hung from said fish thereby becoming an extension/extender (E). So FE means Fish Extender. It is like a Secret Santa exchange. We will probably start the exchange list a LITTLE closer to the cruise date. You can participate individually, or be part of a group giving a larger gift.

Here is a picture of mine at home. Being a picture slacker, I didn't get a picture of it hanging from the fish.

I'm sure others have pictures of their Fish Extenders on board.

The fish extender does not have to have multiple pockets.
Mine was a Christmas stocking.
Yvette (from the Netherlands) had a wooden shoe.

The multiple pockets are so each each cabin resident can have their own pocket for gifts. (Mom, Dad, kids) If you are okay with one gift for your cabin, a one pocket FE would be fine, and simpler to make. Some people just hang a bag from the "fish" next to their door.

Hi everyone!

We moved our dummy date today to the Podcast cruise. It will be our 6th Disney cruise, 2nd on the Fantasy, and 1st Podcast cruise. It will be DH (Scott - ssanders79 on the boards), myself, and DD, who will be 5 1/2 at the time of sailing.

Looking forward to it, and also the ship and CC decorated for Christmas!

By the way, ssanders79 (DH) would happily keep the FE list if interested. He usually keeps it on a website & it's neat and organized :goodvibes
