Sky writing over disney

...........over 10 pages......and most of it off the original topic intent/question. I guess this proves that moderators have quit and we can run amuck!!!!!!

OK, I just found out that all those going to WDW and are offended by the skywriting don't have to worry anymore. I have confirmed that his message is intended for UNIVERSAL STUDIOS crowds only.:scared1: :rotfl2: Now, you won't have to be worried that he is crashing your WDW day!

WOW, glad that is resolved now and we can all move along. Keep moving folks, there's nothing to see here...

One thing I find interesting is that people are arguing about "him" without knowing who "he" is. His name is Jerry Stevens:

And here's the plane he does his "business" in:

We now return you to your regularly scheduled bickering, already in progress. ;)

WOW, this photo proves my first point about a secret UNIVERSAL STUDIOS plot.......place your mouse on the plane wing in the picture and slowly bend it upwards. The photo will flip and you will see the words, universal joint access here" in small print on the plane. (feel free to add photoshop work here!). :thumbsup2 Simply delete the reference to the joint and forget about any maintenance knowledge you have and there you have it...Universal.......Conspiracy confirmed!:scared1:

I find all the blimps floating around for advertising purposes a lot more annoying than the sky writing. They are always blimps in the area of WDW. The sky writing is gone in a matter of a five to ten minutes at most. The blimps hang around for hours. I don't see the difference. Both things are advertising and are very visible from WDW property.

Somebody should tell MetLife to stop sponsoring blimps and start sponsoring the Wonders of Life Pavilion again. :)

yes, because at this point in my life, I associate people who would write something like that in the sky with the same ones supporting the anti gay marriage amendment in FL. I don't go around writing gays FTW in the sky so keep your religion out of my life. I don't want it and I don't want to see it referenced.

That's not fair to associate all Christians with that stuff, Christians are so misrepresented, those who claim to be Christians and yet are so hateful I question their true faith. That is why I can't stand groups like Fred Phelps and The West Burro (sp?) Baptist Church (not actually a Baptist church though) -- the group that claims they are Christian and yet protest soldier's funerals and have signs that say "God hates America, thank God for 9/11" and "God hates Fags" and their latest "Thank God for the NIU deaths" (yes these people are awful) I CAN'T STAND THAT GROUP they misrepresent what a Christian is. THAT IS NOT WHO WE ARE.

I am a Christian (and ministry student getting ready to get my B.S. in May in ministry), and that is not what Christianity is. So while I don't think writing that stuff in the sky is really a good use of money, maybe its the only talent he things he has (whether he does it well or not) to spread his faith. I don't think anyone is going to look up and see his message and it cause them to find God, but if he feels called to it, he has every right to try. I have to deal with billboards that are almost porn on the side of the road, I wish it wasn't there, but that doesn't mean they don't have the right.

So yes it is a waste of money and could be put to better use, but he has the right and even if it was an anti-Christian. I would just use it as a lesson for my kids about how all sorts of messages will be thrown out at them and they need to discern between what they believe and what the message is saying. (Though I don't have kids yet)

Doh, serves me right for not reading the whole juicy thread. Let me change my statement:

Jeremy does not approve. I don't "witness" anyone to the things I believe, and I just find it rather silly when people want to "recruit" others who are so easily influenced that they would jump religions based on seeing a sign.

But see...he isn't trying to recruit anybody to anything! It is a simple message - Jesus loves you. A simple statement that is being taken way out of proportion! Geez - why is it that the mere mention of the name Jesus makes people freak out? :sad2:

You think the name "Jesus" freaks people out? Try mentioning Rosie O'Donnell.

His website says: "God loves you so much that He is writing love letters to you in the sky." How come God needs a guy in a plane to do the writing??? :rotfl2:

You got that right. :thumbsup2

It also said God spoke to him and told him to do this.

OKay. :rolleyes1

Not feed starving children, help homeless people, work at a domestic violence shelter - but to ....Skywrite. :confused3

I would rather not see those billboards either. They're almost as bad. The reason why they're not quite as bad is that they're not taking away from my immersion into Disney.

Freedom of speech - fine. It still is completely and utterly ANNOYING to me.
You've made the same point over and over again. We get it. The guy ANNOYS you. Why repeat yourself over and over again?

PS I don't care either way about this skywriter. I am a practicing Catholic who is not going to get on his knees and pull out my rosary when I see him start his skywriting nor am I going to get all upset because he is violating the airspace during my WDW vacation.

I'll move on now.:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Alright, Im going to take one for the team here...

Its a shame that a hottie showing some clevage like Cathrynrose has to be such a b about the subject.

There, that ought to get this thread locked down.

You are a team player!:lmao: :lmao:

How do you know he is not doing those things AS WELL?

Nice. :sad2:

Or at the very least, get you some well-deserved points.

Indeed - one can only *pray*!!
