My sister and I will be escorting our 78-year-old parents to WDW for their first trip in late February. (We have each been once before a few yers ago with our kids.)

We would like to ocassionally "surprise" them with bits of Disney Magic to help get them in the mood and make their trip "magical". Any suggestions?

Frankly, I am not even sure what I have in mind. My best thought to date is to present them with embroidered "Ear Hats" as we enter MK.

I am taking my 72 year old mother. I surprised her with the trip at Chirstmas. I gave her a guide book and told her pick some things she really wanted to do. She wanted to experience Europe. So I have planned Chefs and Crown and Rose for dinner at World Showcase.

Have them look through a guide book and let them make some suggestions.

Perhaps a carriage ride, a photo album, get them started on pressed pennies ( shine up a few pennies and wrap them in tissue with the two quarters they will need), and get them a pressed penny book to put them in. My Dad is nearly worse with these than my kids are;)

I would suggest an Illuminations cruise. We did one a 3 or four years ago. We also booked it for my folks when they went 2 years ago. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Book at ps at the Garden Grill at EPCOT and tell them you want to do the rehitching ceremony. It is free and they make a big "tadoo" over the couple at the table plus they will get a little "wedding cake" for their dessert. Be sure to tell them when you check in that you want to do the rehitching ceremony.

Carriage rides are available at the campground, they board at Crocket's Tavern and at Port Orlean's Riverside. I think they are $30.00 for a thirty minute ride.

I would contact Jane at Presentations: Gifts of a Lifetime (jane@giftsofalifetime.com) and tell her what you posted. She always is able to come up with incredible ideas that will fit your budget.

I would let them look at a map or a book and pick out some things they would like to do that way you could plan a meal in an area they would like.
If they are out going people I would definately take them to the Prime Time Diner at MGM. I recently took my 78yr Grandmother there during our trip and see loved it. they really got her into it all. And older people like to talk to everyone so that is a great time.
Plan an evening for everyone. Like at MGM for fantasmic or at Epcot for Illuminations do a dinner and then you'll have seating reserved for the show. They really love that and felling like they are important that they don't have to wait.
A fireworks cruise would be nice
And some little silly things would be an autograph book and their pictures with their favorite characters.
Definatley go with the ears. And if it's around their ann. get them the bride and groom ears and take them to PI.
Make family shirts together.
