Does anyone know if you can't rent wheelchairs or ECV in Downtown Disney?

The Guest Services at DTD (which is near Ghiardelli's) will rent wheelchairs but not ECVs. They are $10 per day, just as in the parks. If you show a receipt from a Park rental that day there will be no charge. If you have any of the $8.00 Length of Stay rental coupons that can be used.

However, since there are no gates they will run a credit card imprint which is returned to you when you return the wheelchair.

i don't know if this is correct information, but it is what it on the official Disney website Guidebook for Guests with Disabilities:
Downtown Disney® Marketplace and Pleasure Island

Price:

Wheelchairs: $10.00 per day + $250 credit card imprint deposit
ECVs: $35.00 per day + $5.00 deposit + $500 credit card imprint deposit

Rental Locations:

Marketplace: Guest Services (wheelchairs and ECVs)
Pleasure Island: DTV (wheelchairs only)
Westside: AMC Guest Services (wheelchairs only)

Someone had posted once that the number of ECVs is VERY limited; I think they posted that there are 5 or less available for rent.
The Passporter for Special Needs books says both can be rented at DD, wheelchairs only at Westside and nothing at PI.

I just called to Guest Services at DTD Marketplace and they only do wheelchairs now.

Thanks. Their website sometimes lags behind what is actually there.
Actually, if they only had a few ECVs, it probably was not a good idea to have them at all - the chance of them having one when someone needed one was not very high.
