We like to stay at different resorts when we go to WDW. In Dec we always stay at VWL (that place was made for Christmas!) and then stay the weekend at either a Universal resort or another Disney resort. Well this year the prices for resorts at Univ were pretty steep so we decided to stay at Dixie Landings (POR-for the PC term). We always stayed there pre-DVC, but it has been 4 years since we were there. I fell in love with the place all over again. They have updated the rooms and they looked great. I love the theming. I am so glad we stayed there.

We had another great visit at VWL. We had a nice room and all was well. I wish we had brought our Christmas lights for the balcony. The people above us had them and they looked great. Note to self for next year, bring lights!
WL had flute players (about 8 of them) in the lobby playing Christmas carols and hand bell ringers another night. Very nice.

We did not eat out very much (this was a low-budget trip), but we really enjoyed the meals we had in the room. We shopped at the new Super Target on 192 and they had some great groceries (if there is such a thing!). We also picked up some hats and gloves while there for the very cold MVMCP.

We did our very first MVMCP and we had a great time. We went on the 14th and met another Dis member on the boat over. It was fun talking to them.
The party was pretty crowded, but the ride waits were great. First time I ever walked onto Peter Pan and Space Mountain. My husband was happy to do Buzz 3X. We followed everyone's tips from these boards and had no waits for anything. Thanks all :D . Except for the bitter cold, it was a great night.
Oh yes, why does Disney have to inject villains into everything? Now they are even at the fireworks at MK. I for one am really tired of the villain thing. :guilty:

We did CP on the 16th. As usual we really enjoyed the perfornance, but I will not do it again with Ertha Kitt narrating. We did not care for her in the least. We did Rose and Crown after the show and had a great meal and a great view of Illuminations. R&C is a great place to eat and enjoy the show.

We stopped over at SSR for the tour. Loved the interiors of the villas. (Really makes me wish that when our couches at VWL need replacing that they would get us ones that are not so tacky.) I finally saw what everyone was talking about with the hallway thing, but it didn't seem that awful to us. I can see us staying there sometime. We had a nice chat with the CM manning the place. She was actually telling people Merry Christmas! I commented how nice it was to hear someone say those words. While we were talking she told us that she was one of the performers on the CD of CP with Lou Gossett Jr narrating. How cool is that ??

Thanks for listening and......

Merry Christmas to all!

Nice report Moo! Merry Merry to you too! SOunds like a fun trip. Now if only I could convince DW to come down in early December. We had sent Auntie down this week with her healthcare worker, over at OKW (her first love); so if you saw a retarded 63 yr old and her helper around, having a GREAT time, that would've been my Auntie.

Interestingly, we stayed a number of different places before we fell in love with a resort, and that was with AKL!

As for the "bitter cold".... HAH! There's no such thing as bitter cold in Florida, as far as I'm concerned. As a Mainer who lived for a time in Montréal, 40 or so degrees is still swimming weather, thank you very much. Hey, if you can't ice fish yet, it's definately still swimming weather. Now that we live here in the "deep South" from a Maine perspective(Massachusetts), we laugh :rotfl: at the folks worried that the temperature might approach 0 and they might actually have to deal with snow. :scared: I guess it's all what you're used to.

Sounds like a fun trip! Thx for the report.

Muushka...thanks for the nice trip report. Sounds like you enjoyed your Christmas season vacation very much!

Interesting perspective on going back to a resort that holds sentimental value to you. I'm glad that it didn't disappoint, as sometimes happens when we visit old haunts. :D

Have a very Merry Christmas! <img src= "http://www.eunuch.org/vbulletin/images/smilies/santasmile2.gif" >

Hee-Hee-Hee...
I agree totally!
We were lucky enought to go to the CP twice this year...we loved it so much the first time with Josuha Morrow narrating that we booked again 2 nights later.
Ertha Kitt was terrible in my opinion.
We stayed at the VWL also. It was wonderful! :D

Glad you had a great trip. I have visited the WL but haven't stayed there yet. Guess I'm just not done with BWV and BCV.

Re: the Villains. All I can say is, without the villains, the stories about wishes and dreams comes true wouldn't be the same. The hero/heroine overcomes adversity and challenges to achieve their dreams.

Sounds like a great time! We lucked out with the weather, because it was turning colder when we left on the 11th! We too thought MVMCP was oversold. We actually had more lines for the rides that night than we did during the week, and both parades were PACKED!

Thanks all. We missed your Auntie PumpkinBoy, but I'll bet she had a great time-in spite of the um, cold :D.

MickeyCrazed, I'm glad we weren't the only ones not thrilled with Ertha!

I will be glad when next Christmas we will have our AP's!! We commando'd at Epcot one day and MVMCP the other day. All the rest of the time was R&R, which is nice also.
