LOL, I was just looking up that very recipe for DD, a mac n cheese addict. She stayed home last year when DH & I went and I know she would have LOVED it.

I need some advice from all of you wonderful people - I'm traveling in November with my sister, sister-in-law, and niece (age 24). We've done F&W before and we love sharing stuff at the booths and stopping for larger cocktails along the way here and there. We've never done a special event like one of the parties or special dinners. This year, we'll be there on my actual birthday, and they want me to pick the activity for that evening. We're planning on AK or HS in the AM (depends on when I can get FastPasses for Flight of Passage), a rest/swim at the resort in the afternoon, and then a birthday activity. I'm torn - should we do a special F&W dinner, assuming there is one that night that we'll all like, or should we do a monorail crawl? We've never done either so I'm having a hard time deciding. Maybe when I see the F&W event schedule I'll be more moved, but right now, both sound good. Your thoughts based on your experiences?

There are some great meal options when they are posted, I've done the parisian meal which is quite a lot of food as well as the hibachi experience.

Ha, I have eaten off trash cans in years past, when they had few tables. Never bothered us LOL.
That same TBD band is stalking me too, my whole trip is still listed as TBD. At least I know it's not Starship, no offense to the people who love them, but they have been there so many times when I have, I want someone else this time.

Exactly how I feel about Hanson.

How fun to be there on your birthday! I too am celebrating my birthday early at the F&W but heading home the day before my actual birthday.

Most of the special events occur during the day with the exception of some of the Culinary Adventures in Signature Dining and the Hibachi Experience. The Rockin Burger Party and Party for the Senses are really nice events in the evening. I have done the Burger Party and liked it but found it was too much food and saw so much waste since people were leaving the buns on their plates. Unfortunately many of the burgers were pre-plated so they could serve quickly so I didn't feel like I could ask for a low carb version! I have seen great reviews of the Party for the Senses and hope to try that this year.

Have you also checked out the new Highway in the Sky Dine Around? It is the Disney version of the monorail crawl and offered various nights. I tried to book it when I went a few weeks ago and it was sold out and I am now waiting to see if it will be offered in October. It is worth checking it out and reading the online reviews. I have done my own monorail crawl and Boardwalk crawl and those too can be fun.

A couple years ago I took this pic of people sitting waiting in line for Hanson...at 12:30 p.m.!

Thanks for the advice! I did see the Highway in the Sky event, too... It looks great. I think I'm just going to have to wait and see the event schedule to make a final decision... But it's so hard to wait! I will be stalking the boards and the website until all of the news is released.

this is probably a repeat so forgive me for asking again....does anyone have an idea when we can start making reservations for Food and wine things?

I don't think they are going to extend Highway in the sky through to the fall with the Food and wine going on but it really sounds great!

Yesterday the TIW preview event tickets became available for purchase. Must be an existing TIW member since you need your ID number to book.

11:00 am which is the time World Showcase opens.

There is an evening EMH until 11:00 on a Tuesday while we are there. Assuming that the booths stay open, will it be super crowded then? (there is a Halloween party at MK that night also)

Believe I read that Highway in the Sky was ending as of June 30.
