I love credit cards so much!

CSR Approval today!!! As soon as it shows up on-line (how long does that take?), I'll move all current 270K URs there.

After this, planning on SW biz in Nov or Dec and then SW personal in January/February. I already have CIP and CIC. Do you think it will be a problem to get SW biz (3 business cards)? I am planning to keep my CIP and ditch DH's CIP. And then keep DH CIC and ditch mine. I already have an employee card on his CIC. I can't ditch my CIC until May and I need the SW biz well before that.

2 Reminders:

- Although the Double Dip appears dead...you can still use a support link for either CSP or CSR so don’t forget to check out DISchurners when you apply :)
- If you use a link, remember whose you used and send them a quick PM so they can be on the lookout for those points :D

Congrats to all of those seeing points finally pending and all of those being approved for new cards. It’s nice to see some positive news in our thread after all the sadness lately :)

RetailMeNot. You download app. Go to in store cash back. Then you sign up for an account and link a credit card. How does it work with cash back? Is it a credit on the cc account? Some sort of cash that you can cash out? Sorry I usually don't have the patience or time for this type of thing (i.e. Swagbucks) but this seems easy enough.
You can cash out to Paypal from RMN. It has nothing to do with your cc other than tracking your purchase to see that it was the right amount at the right store for the offer.

Is this the only option? I am probably the only person in America without a PayPal account. Not sure I feel like creating one for this. Do they have an option to send checks like ebates?

Also how would RMN know what was purchased in store? I understand something ending in a even number is suspicious but they aren’t getting data sent to them are they?

While PID info is not supposed to be shared with the marketer, other data involved in the transaction is fair game. So if a store is sending L2 or L3 data with the transaction, RMN may be able to see it. So it's possible, but I suspect at this point it's unlikely they're doing anything with it if all these offers exclude GC's but people are getting paid out on GC's. (Also the age old, 3rd party GC vs Store GC distinction may be at play)

I think the reports of stacking the Sam's RMN or Dosh offer with the Uber earning is a little telling as I think it was people who bought a GC only didn't get the Uber credit in addition; but the ones that had another item with the GC got the full amount for both the RMN/Dosh app and Uber. If I'm remembering correctly, I haven't signed up for either as I'm not in a GC hunt at the moment so I'm not meticulously tracking the conversations. But if that's accurate, that would indicate Uber is getting some type of data with the transaction and acting on it.

I just looked on their site and this is what it says -
Do I have to have a Paypal account to redeem a reward?
Yes. PayPal is an easy and secure way to send and redeem rewards. If you do not have an account, you will be prompted to create one. Keep in mind that we send all notifications to the email address listed in your RetailMeNot account. If your PayPal email address is different from your RetailMeNot account, you can easily link the two in your PayPal settings.

I came on here this morning to say that DH happily just texted me from work that both 50K bonuses are pending from the DD. Now I see that it's old news over here. Things really move quickly. I am seriously relieved at this point.

I'd just echo the benefit of the 3 AUs on the platinum for $175 (I've had DD, DH and DM) for two years and the only down side is DH is now sort of a lounge lord a la @calypso726 DH the plane princess :)

Also...I echo holding off gold AUs if you can until they offer the 5K bonus. I did this for DF's AU. Again this year I received the offer for 5K for each AU but have a small family and couldn't take advantage of it...so very sad. Also an idea for your AU's...I keep all of mine in a separate wallet (the AU wallet) in my desk and then when we go on a trip or I need to take advantage of an Amex offer, pull it out and use it. I have everyone trained to hold out their hand for their plats before we go on a trip :) Might be easier for you to do this with kiddos, parents, etc. Trust but control is my motto :)

DD and I have been AUs for years off of DHs Platinum. It's especially nice now for my DD who is in college on the other side of the country. She gets the Uber credits since we don't really need them, and the lounges have become a great benefit for her since she can work (ie. write papers, etc.) in peace while at the airport waiting to come home, has been stranded overnight at PHL, has missed connections at DFW (they offered to sign her up for a massage at that one - she looked so exhausted when she walked in). DD is very frugal, so we don't worry about her having that card. She sometimes gets embarrassed when someone in a store notices how heavy it is, but all the flight delays and cancellations have made it so she is now thankful and not embarrassed to use the lounges. I'm really glad she has it.

I’d put employed

I put 'Homemaker' and use household income. Good luck!

I wasn't sure what to do with the AMEX app I signed up for last week and just put "other" and listed total household income.

I was just about to ask the same question. I wasn't planning on dealing with RMN but all the posts have me really interested now and I don't know how it works either. (so IMHO not a dumb question at all)

Okay. My stupid questions. (I am going to knock them out in one post).

Second stupid question. I am sorry @Lain I know you or @tink1970 have explained this. The BGR is my first MR earning card. Payment due at end of month. But I don't see anything as far as earned MR's or pending MR's. It is still showing as zero. Where do I look?

Thanks guys!

If you're familiar with eBates, I'd think of RMN as eBates for your credit card. Instead of going to a website through an ebates-like portal that collects all your cashback for you, you open the app to click on an offer, use the CC you linked to the app like normal, and then the app collects all that cashback. Not having it I don't know how it pays out, but that should be easy to find in the app. RMN started a cashback portal like eBates not too long ago and now the app with the instore cashback option is an extension of that program.

For you MR card when you go into the Member Rewards page transaction list there should be a link for pending points. MR is a little weird as they don't post when you're statement closes, they post on the 2nd statement closing. But you should be able to see them in that pending points link. I just totally forget where I saw it exactly, I was checking out my MR points activity and saw the link.

I stand corrected! :worship:

Before I jump into RMN, are folks purchasing a filler item with their gift cards to trigger the cash back?
I would. I had a Walgreens purchase in July that went pending and was then denied. It was solely a giftcard. Since then I’ve had luck at Walgreens, staples and cvs with a filler item added.
Others have reported success with just a single gc purchase so its def ymmv

Not stupid. Amex makes it very hard to see points pending!

When your statement posts, go to http://www.membershiprewards.com, click on your "Points Balance" amount, click on the "Summary" tab, and under "Additional Information" click on "View Detail" next to "Pending Points." You'll see how many total points you earned on the statement that just closed broken down by cards under that account. These pending points will post to your MR account when your statement closes again the next month.

At least that’s how it worked a few months ago; Amex may have redesigned their site since.

I only add something if there is something I want. At Walgreens, my boys wanted gummi bears lol, so I did add those to one purchase (but I made three purchases). No filler at HD, CVS or Kohls and all purchases are pending for cash back.

Glad to know that your boys have gummy bears as part of their childhood, what with never having experienced a Happy Meal until this year.
