I love credit cards so much!

Just a DP. I had a non filler item order (Walgreens) go pending and then get rejected. Many others have been fine. It’s very YMMV and with so many people hopping on this deal (understandingly so!) don't count on the money until it’s gotten the final approval.

I pick up my husbands prescription at CVS and the $25 co pay triggered the offer...hopefully it goes through

Applied for the CIU on Sunday morning. Still getting the 30 days message too.

Well that makes me feel a lot better!

When we applied for my wife’s CIP I think it was pending at 30 days for 6 days before approval. She was 2/24 at the time with her last card being 22 months prior soooo you can sit pending awhile and be just fine.

My P2 applied for one on Friday and it’s still at the 30 day message as well...from what I’ve read here...if it goes to the 2 week message it’s likely approved...7-14 day message likely denied

It worried me because when I got my CIP, I applied late Friday night, got the 30 day message all weekend and then got the approval first thing Monday morning. I kind of expected the same thing this time. Now after reading Lain's post to someone else about decreasing credit limits I'm worried. I haven't done that in awhile.

I did decrease his CIP credit limit prior to applying...the only other Chase card he has is Disney....so if it’s not approved the credit limits aren’t the issue....hopefully we will all be approved soon

Is the Amex offer for Walmart grocery pickup crediting on it's own, or are people having to contact Amex?

I haven’t gotten credit yet and I picked up my order last Thursday. I’ve never had to contact Amex about an offer credit yet. I was hoping it would still credit eventually, kind of like Sams did in May/June. I have another offer on my son’s AU card but holding off using it until the first one posts.

I can confirm that all you need to do is add the e-mail address you are using for RMN to your PP account as an "alternate e-mail". It's in the profile and settings section on the PP website. I have 3 RMN accounts (yep, 3!). One more myself, DH, and another using my old college e-mail address where e-mails still get forwarded to my normal e-mail address, so it's much easier to keep track of. 3 accounts also make each trip incredibly worthwhile lol. Because we have 4 CFs, 2 CIC, and 2 SPG Biz between us, it's been helpful in terms of the Walgreens/Staples offers. I simply tell the cashier I want to split all the transactions; sometimes, I get the weird look, sometimes, they are fine with it.

Once you've added all the e-mail addresses, all cashback from RMN should pool into that one PP account.

Fantastic! Thanks!

It worked fine for me at Walgreens pharmacy for the offer. I hope it works for you at CVS. On the Walgreens offer that expired on 9/16 ($5 cb on a $50 purchase) it came up at $49.99 and the cashier was kind enough to add on a penny to my order so that I could get my $5 RMN reward. :teeth:

I also noticed that when RMN changes its offers, you are immediately eligible for the new offer even if you have a reward pending on a previous offer (instead of waiting the 7-10 days for the reward to clear before using it again). In my case I have $5 pending from a Walgreens purchase on 9/16 and was able to link the new offer from 9/17 to my account and now have $10 pending from my 9/17 purchase.

Ok this isn't the DVC board but so many of you are members I'll ask this here. I made an inquiry about buying SSR points direct (a small amount), December use year. I travel to Food and Wine in October and take an "escape winter" vacation each January. The most important vacation is the January one and we have no children and can really go whenever - very flexible.

My guide doesn't have October or December use years to sell me.

She has September (because we're in that month now and they've bought those points back obviously). She says September is good because "This would allow you to do the bulk of your travel before your banking window, which would be April 30. I think this would actually be a better use year than December, because it would not place any of your vacationing times in the last 4 months of your use year, outside of your banking window."

Do you guys agree with this? And the negative is I wouldn't get last year's points, correct because now we're already in September?

Oh no! What will the Plane Princess do stuck in business, when you’re laying in first class?!

Oh no! Guess you'll have to flip a coin for who sits where.:upsidedow Fingers crossed you can upgrade him eventually!

Crisis averted! I will share what happened in case anyone else runs into the same situation. So, I checked availability for 2 in first on our return flight from the Maldives connects in Dubai. We had flights booked in business class. Lo and behold, there’s first class for 2 people. I change my booking online successfully and then log into DHs account to change his and the availability is gone and I am unable to proceed. I check for first availability on each segment for one person and there is nothing in first. I checked this morning and same result no availability. So, I called Alaska and they transferred me to a partner award specialist. She was able to process the award change and booking even though I couldn’t see it. She was able to manually process it. The Plane Princess is pleased as am I. Looking forward to experiencing over 16 hours each way on Emirates first class.

We get 2! TWO showers on a plane ah, ah, ah.

Since you travel in October and January....September would be a good use year for you...but as you pointed out the negative is not getting last years points....

For me the bigger negative is an additional membership number since it’s a different use year and to pool the points you would have to transfer from one contract to the other..

So you need the points immediately? If not I’d ask to be put on a waitlist for December points..

Ok thanks for the answer! It wasn't clear, sorry - I'm not a member yet so it wouldn't matter about transferring. I would just stick with September going forward I guess. I need to discuss with DH. It seems like December use years are the most prevalent so looking to the future, we thought it would be easier adding on resale but that is probably stupid. I've been looking at resale for literally forever and I just can't get any of the small contracts.

This sounds totally reasonable to me. Most likely your guide is offering September because that's what she has (and if it were October, she'd offer you October, etc). I don't think you will get last year's points on sold out resorts - it seems like they only ever sell current month on those. But the conventional wisdom is to get a use year that's closest but still before the months you want to travel, and you're well within your banking window for the trips you want to take.

Super duper hard. They go fast - sometimes within minutes - and they command a per-point premium because the overall cost is lower. If you're looking for a sub-100 point contract, sometimes buying direct is the way to go. If you're under 50, definitely direct - the closing costs will be much lower.

SSR is tough because resale contracts go for much less than direct, but Disney has been buying back so much SSR who knows if you'd actually even get it. I guess the price is going to keep rising on resale as well to try to find that price where Disney won't exercise ROFR.

We have a December use year and don't typically go Sept-November. We are typically Jan-May. Ease would be to keep the same use year going forward but it is still manageable if you have more than one. You just need to transfer and keep mind on home resort booking windows.

I crave McDonald's fries about twice a year and always regret it afterwards lol. Their cokes are definitely the best though.

LOL, my dh doesn't understand why I make him stop at McD's so I can get a coke on the way home, when we have coke in the fridge! And I have no issues eating there, ever.
Chipotle is my thing though, I have eaten there twice in one day, and have been known to eat there more than once a week, but always every Sunday for dinner!

Mine did not credit automatically. I need to contact Amex. I was reading another site and there was discussion of several people calling in because it didn't credit.

Oh...got it...then she’s correct September is a better use year based on your travel

Congrats!party: on the new awesome Amex Plat!

@Lain answered your questions as I would have (had I not gone to bed at 5:45 pm and awakened at 6:15 am:faint:). I'd just echo the benefit of the 3 AUs on the platinum for $175 (I've had DD, DH and DM) for two years and the only down side is DH is now sort of a lounge lord a la @calypso726 DH the plane princess :)

Also...I echo holding off gold AUs if you can until they offer the 5K bonus. I did this for DF's AU. Again this year I received the offer for 5K for each AU but have a small family and couldn't take advantage of it...so very sad. Also an idea for your AU's...I keep all of mine in a separate wallet (the AU wallet) in my desk and then when we go on a trip or I need to take advantage of an Amex offer, pull it out and use it. I have everyone trained to hold out their hand for their plats before we go on a trip :) Might be easier for you to do this with kiddos, parents, etc. Trust but control is my motto :)

Anyway CONGRATS again :cheer2:

The Lounge Lord and The Plane Princess! I love it!
