Hi all, I have a quick question;
We are planning a trip for Thanksgiving week next year, 2020. It has been a while since we have been at the holidays, and I though that there typically were not parties Thanksgiving week. I am Seeing there is one scheduled for Sunday before thanksgiving this year. Is that typical?

No, not typical at all. So no way to know if it will continue, unfortunately.

I’m going to go out (on a probably not very long) limb and say that Sunday party will be insanely popular. The Thanksgiving week folks finally have a shot at getting in a party without extending their trip a bit before or after that week.

At least that’s my guess at the moment. :-)

Hello everyone. You guys are always so helpful, I thought I would ask a couple of questions since our fastpass booking window is tomorrow morning! DH and I are taking our 6 year old DGS to the first MVMCP on 11/8. It is our first ever MVCP party! We are going to spend the morning hours doing Chef Mickey's to celebrate the little guys upcoming birthday, and visit the resort hotels on the monorail to see any of the Christmas decorations that they may have up at that time. We plan on arriving at MK at 4:00, so we can optimize some park time before the party. My DGS and DH would like to ride 7DMT, Big Thunder Railroad and Splash Mountain. What would be he best time to do the FP for these before the party? All 3 of us want to do the Jingle Jungle Cruise and Speedway during the party. My DGS is a huge Mickey fan, but was very hesitant of the characters other than Mickey when we went to WDW 2 years ago, so I don't know if he will want to see any other characters. My personal main goal is to see the parade, fireworks, enjoy the treats and do some shopping. Is this all doable in the one party night? Do any of you have recommendations on the best way to accomplish as much of this as possible? I really appreciate any help or advise that you all have. Thanks in advance!

Hi! We're going to our first party in November! I had a question about AP discounts - my family has APs, but my parents are coming too and aren't passholders. Can I buy them a ticket at the discounted AP rate, or does everyone have to show an AP when we check in?

you can buy discounted tickets for them

Do the Plaza Garden dessert parties get crowded?
The garden or the dessert area? We’ve never found the garden to be terribly crowded, but that may change this year if the new show is largely projection heavy like the new Halloween show. The dessert area can be congested, but there’s enough seats for everyone.

Hello,

We are doing the MK during the day and the party. If I wanted to get a good, front row seat for the 10 o'clock fireworks and the 11 o'clock parade where should I go and how early would I need to get there? Since I plan on doing RD and staying all day I imagine I'll be tired by that point and won't mind sitting for a while. I know they say the fireworks can be enjoyed across the park but I really want to see any castle projections.

Thanks!

Last year during MNSSHP we showed up minutes before the fireworks (longer wait time than posted at 7DMT) and had a good view right in front of the castle in the HUB. I prefer to be back a smidge (like the area between Casey's & Crystal Palace).

Just know that if the new fireworks show is projection-heavy like the new Halloween show, these views directly in front of the castle will be taken early. We'll need to watch for reports from the early parties on the make up of the show and to see just how early people are grabbing spots in the Hub.

I'm a bit confused, I booked Fireworks Holiday Dessert Party at Tomorrowand Terrace for the December 10th party. Now today bookings for Minnies Wondeful Christmastime Fireworks party are available. Are these 2 different events? Will my reservations still work? I paid them already, so I'm hoping theres no issues. Anyone have any info?

You may have booked before the change in the game. I would imagine they'll still work but you can try giving them a call just to be safe.

[edit]I just checked my reservations and also saw "Fireworks Holiday Dessert Party" that said I distinctly remember it being called "Minnie's etc." when I made mine. I think it could just be the general name. I dunno...I might want to call too now...

[edit2]I just did a test and when I selected a day and took me to the guest screen the name changed to "Fireworks Holiday Dessert Party". So I think it's just a generic name because fitting all that would be a nightmare on both the MDE site and especially the app XD.

I'd just like to confirm my understanding about FP and the party. We have tickets to the 11/17 MVMCP party.

We have park tickets (not hoppers) that we'll be using in the morning at HS, doing the EMM rope drop for TSL, Muppets and then just walking through GE before heading out. Not using any FP in the morning, and then we're going back to the hotel and hanging out before the party.

I have 3 FP booked for MK for 3:30, 4:30 and 5:30 before the party. As long as I have the party tickets linked on my account, I won't have any issues with the fact that I have MK fastpasses but enter on a non-park-hopper ticket to HS, correct?

Looks perfect to me. :thumbsup2

Kind of a spin on that question...since we're also going to the 11/17 party!

We also have non-park hopper tickets. Going to AK in the morning and using 3 FPs. Once I've used my 3rd, I was planning on trying to book another at MK for after 4. Will that work? It won't somehow screw up my last day of FPs, will it (as I hear it will if you book extra for the party in advance)?

Nope, you're all good - once you tap your 3rd FP at AK you can then book your 4th at MK, subject to availability of course. Won't screw up anything.
