My 15 year old son got invited to do a one day DL trip for his best friend's 16th birthday. The friend REALLY wants to do ROTR... I, being the comparative expert, had a long talk with mom about expectations right now. PLUS his birthday is Feb 16... which is not only a terrible weekend because of the holiday but there is a also a huge cheer convention that weekend (although they might enjoy watching all the groups of girls running around)... I am trying to get them to delay the trip about a month. My own trip is at the end of February so I will have a chance to test out the BG thing and even tho March is spring break perhaps some of the insanity will have died down by then..... a mom can dream, right? I just don't want his and his friend's ignorance to cause them to miss out!!

First world problems for sure.

Just want to say I love SW. I love being able to book flights, even speculative, knowing I can cancel and get all my points back easily or change to get points back if the price drops. I am finding it so hard to pull the trigger on some flights for this year because they are on other airlines and it is not as easy (at least I think that). I hate thinking that the price might drop right after I lock in. Just have to find prices I can live with and then stop looking!

I totally agree with all of this!

I actually just said this to someone tonight. With my dad having cancer I have booked and cancelled so many flights in the last couple months, it’s crazy.

I know someone who was there this week for her 50th and she posted that she rode it (at DL) and that it was awesome! So it's definitely possible.

Delta question. If I book with miles but pay taxes with a Amex Delta card, do I still get a free checked bag? Or is it only if I pay for the flight?

Tina Fey is making Mean Girls: The Musical: The Movie!!!

Agree..I book flights for our son with points in case he can fly up for the holidays etc...easy to cancel if he can’t

Wow it never occurred to me coyotes would be elsewhere! I just assumed the were a desert animal! They roam our neighborhood occasionally and people freak out. Then they call me (at work) and when I tell them they're a free roaming animal they freak out more. Having said that... bring in your smaller pets!
We have them in CT as well. Our town has tons of bears, bobcats, and assorted wildlife, but the coyotes freak me out the most. And this is coming from someone who was unexpectedly 4-6 feet from a bear this summer!

I make DH walk with.me at night. I've only seen them once, in a pack, but there are a lot of sightings.

Apparently there's a woman who FEEDS THEM and there's a den in the woods by her house. She even puts food out in her garage in the winter so they can come in and not get cold?!??!?! Her neighbors are terrorized by the pack that have attacked pets and stalked kids. We don't have a "no feeding wild animals" law, so all animal control can do is warn her against feeding them. She out and out doesn't care. It's a big hooplah in our sleepy little town

TONS of coyotes here in the suburbs of Boston. I’ve only seen them on their own, never in a pack.

Yes you get a free bag even with a flight booked on miles.
We have coyotes in the twin cities s suburbs of Minnesota. Praying they don’t come around here. Bad enough I have to worry about bald eagles grabbing my dog.

I'm overdue for another Chase card, but don't think I can meet the MSR on a "cup". How many URs does one get with the CIC? Can I self-refer (I am aware of the risks) from my CIP? What is the MSR? I tried looking on dischurners but couldn't find an answer (sorry I am not good navigating reddit).

thanks. Booked my flights to Salt Lake City in May. Used miles and DH Delta gold biz for taxes. I may just cancel my card. I can’t seem to get out of pop jail and I just don’t have enough expenses to hit MSRs and put extra on open AMEX cards. I have put spend on the AMEX cards I have but it is just not enough apparently. My AF will come up in March. Have a little time to think about it.

How they ever thought they could remake 90210 without Luke Perry I will never understand.

I didn’t watch this attempt at a reboot, but a couple of my coworkers did and said it was awful.

It wasn't awful because LP wasn't there, he wasn't even in all of the original, he left and came back and the show was still good. The show was awful because it was an awful idea and not really what anyone wanted. Had they just been themselves instead of hyper version of themselves with ridiculous histories it might've worked. It was just all so unrealistic and stupid, an actual reboot, even for a 2 hour movie, would have made so much more sense. I suffered through it all and wasn't at all surprised or sad when it got cancelled.

I saw you already got your answer but I'm also pretty sure I didn't pay for my taxes on my last award flight with my DL card and still got the free bag. I know it says you need to pay for it that way but how would the airline know? The accounts are linked but I find it hard to believe that they are sophisticated enough to tell them when to deny a bag and if they tried to I'd just say I have the card I'm not supposed to pay. I had issues the first couple years I had my US Air Card because I had somehow ended up with 2 FF accts so things weren't popping up like they should as far as the free bag and earlier boarding. I'd just pull the card out and got my perks. Doubt the airline employees care that much either.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned here before but Sam's Club has discounted Delta gift cards. This is useful for me because I have Delta as my preferred airline for my Amex Plat, Gold and Hilton Aspire. I've been able to use a GC and then the rest of the ticket qualifies for the airline credit. Sam's also take Amex so it goes toward MSR plus I have the Plus membership and I earn 2% back. This is probably old news but I thought I should mention it just in case.
