Got my WDW May30-Jun06 trip moved to mid July. Its going to be HOT but seems like it will be more likely to happen. Took an hour on the phone to get the first reservation moved, He had some system issues but I got Free QS Dinning and upgraded to Preferred Pool from Preferred and saved $350. They didn't require park hopper, but I got hit with the ticket and hotel price increases that happened since the original booking. He could not touch the second reservation, said it was locked from view so gave me another number to call since that number was not allowing transfers... Called that and got a recording to email them as they are WFH. Ended up calling WDW Guest Services with the case number and got it moved with no wait.

Soooooo, Who's been to WDW in July?? How crazy am I for doing this?
If the situation allows, I am going in July!!! I have been many times in August, and it's hotter than Hades, but it's all good. Go early, nap in the afternoon, go back at night. Lot's of water. Still better than being at home.

1) i have not have had a big variety of cards yet. The card I like most is SW Chase because I love the fact that it’s easy to fly with points and change or cancel flights if needed. I am sure there are still better or more valuable options out there and I look forward to exploring them slowly.

2) haven’t had one yet that was enable by churning , but I do have some Disney gift cards that I have earned through it and also the points to fly with. Looking forward to our next trip to use them! 😍

1. Hmm, good point. I was going to say capital One venture but I really value SW points. So i'd probably keep SW or a chase card to transfer points to SW.

2. My favorite churning trip hasn't happened yet. Had an east coast to CA flight booked on points last summer. Also hotels in San Francisco, yosemite, anaheim and rental car on points. Then had to cancel because I started a new job. Started rebooking this summer, then had to cancel when we decided to move. Third time is a charm, hopefully it'll work out for next summer. :D

So Chase update--I went back to UR, hit cancel flight, and chatted again. This time I told them the 888 number wouldn't talk to me and this person called AA for me and got a refund. Not sure why the first chat person told me to call. Anyway, it's taken care of:)
I feel kind of dumb asking this, if you hit Cancel, does a chat box automatically pop up? DH needs to do this with a United flight booked with URs, also some Philippines air flights

This is so true. I remember with my first just bawling because nursing seemed to be the only thing that would make her not cry and I was just so exhausted. Poor DH woke up to both of us crying at 3 am many nights and I know he felt so helpless because there was nothing he could do. I am not going to lie, BFing was very hard for me. Nobody had told me that it could be challenging. I had only heard the rosy stories of how great it is. I am so glad I stuck it out, I did love it in the end. But it was not easy. Fast forward to baby #2. Easy Peasy. I thought because I just knew what to do and what to expect. Baby #3, more tears. Another difficult adjustment. All babies are built different.

And let me just say, back in the day, there was NOTHING on TV at 3 am. I think it could be easier to stay up with them with some Netflix going. lol

Infant #1 wanted to use me as a pacifier... All the time. Took me a while to figure that out. Life got easier when I got her a pacifier instead. :rotfl2:

Thanks all for the info! Yeah we altered our daily plan from June. Was able to get all the dinning we wanted, but instead of morning/noon we moved them to 2:30 so we can sleep in, have lunch at the parks then planning on staying there late as it looks like MK has a midnight close and others are 10~11PM. I am sure it will be busy but we were there for Christmas with MK hitting capacity so could not be worse! LOL.

Fingers are crossed I'll be there. My plan is park in the morning, pool afternoon, park in the evening. Bonus, we or at least I, tend to eat less when hot so food expense might be a little lower lol I think for this trip we'll either buy a case of water and pack some or something because I'm sure we'll drink a lot.

My doctor said the same thing yesterday. She said her daughter would scream when she took her off and eventually she called the lactation consultant who told her she probably just needed a pacifier

Future planned trips . . . will they happen??

** Boston August 1 - taking DD and her best friend to see Taylor Swift concert

** CA/Yosemite High Sierra loop hike - end of August - we had to move last year's hike to this summer. PLEASE Yosemite, don't cancel again on us!

** NYC mid-December weekend - Hamilton, Rockettes

** early January - 3 night DCL cruise + Universal

What are the odds?

Have not backread yet....but if not mentioned the AMEX use a point 20% off promo is no longer dead on gift cards. Grabbed another Best Buy Gift Card and saved 20%....I will be ready for my Xbox Series X and Playstation 5 with all of the Best Buy cards I have grabbed from these promos. Not to mention I got targeted for the monthly utility offer 10% back promo on my Best Buy Card for the first quarter and will get $100 back in Rewards Certificates from that.
Thanks for posting this. I didn't realize it was working again. I just ordered some grocery cards. :)

How about we redirect to something completely on topic!

2 Questions:

1) If you were told you had to close ALL of your CCs and could only hold ONE card...which card would you hold, and why?

2) Tell me about your favorite trip that churning has enabled. Where did you go? How did churning make it possible? etc...

Let's flood the thread with fun on topic comments that can encourage everybody during these tough times!!

1- I would have DH pick CF and I would pick CSR. DH just wants to use one card anyway so that would be easy!

2- I feel like our last trip is usually our favorite! Hawai’i over Christmas break was amazing. We traveled with our family of 5 plus DSIL and DBIL. All flights were covered between SW points and URs transferred to BA. Most of the hotels were covered with Marriott points. Lots of activities booked with URs. One week in Kauai and 3 days at Aulani (rented points so paid cash for that portion!) I just finished the scrapbook On Shutterfly with all my extra time at home and it was so fun to relive the memories!

Check your SW flights, They just silently canceled my flights or something. I noticed the date was the 31st instead of the 30th. So I clicked on it and it says "We're sorry, this reservation has already been cancelled." Funny thing is tho when I check the 31st there are no 6AM flights that is shows in my dashboard page. So I guess this is the push I needed to just cancel the trip. They also have not refunded me the points.
No cancellations for me just adjusted times and changes in my favor, until last night. I received notice today that our nonstop flight in June from OAK to IND now connects in Vegas. Boo.

It's not all rosy here. I can send you a pic of a huge toad I almost stepped on while I was doing my stair workout on Monday. I've been here 10 years and I'll never get used to the boufa toads!
I'm a Florida native. I live here, I camp alot in Florida. I am TERRIFIED of frogs/toads. I know it's irrational but I can't help it. I've learned not to look at places where frogs are (roof eaves, edges of dirt, damp moist areas of vegetation), I don't approach edges of bodies of water. When my kids were younger, I was so worried that one would bring me one like those "cute" commercials of kids with frogs that I told them I was so allergic to them that I would have to go to a hospital if I got one near me. That worked and they would protect me from them while camping. Now, they are old enough to know that the wrath of mom will fall upon them (after my panic subsides). Oddly enough, I can handle snakes, roaches in the wild (NOT in my human spaces), bugs, raccoons.

We have Geico and got an email today that our next bill would be something like 15% off. For the life of me I can't seem to find it now. ugh!
IIRC it said anyone renewing through October? We renew every 6 months with no option for 12 month policies so we renewed late March and our next one will be in Sept.
Sorry, I will keep looking for it to give you more accurate details.

ETA: Found it!
Dear ********,
As part of GEICO's ongoing efforts to assist customers during this unprecedented time, we are announcing The GEICO Giveback which provides a 15 percent credit to all auto and motorcycle customers as policies come up for renewal, between April 8, 2020 and October 7, 2020. This credit will also apply to any new policies purchased during this period as part of our commitment to protecting the wellbeing of our customers.
Current customers can expect to see the credit when they renew. Customers do not need to take any action to receive this credit.
The credits are expected to average $150 per auto policy and $30 per motorcycle policy. With roughly 18 million auto policies and 1 million motorcycle policies in force, we are proudly providing a total benefit of approximately $2.5 billion to our customers.
Last month, we announced that we're pausing cancellations of coverage due to non-payment or policy expiration through April 30, 2020 or later as directed by your state. Beyond that, we are committed to offering maximum flexibility to policyholders who need special payment options. And to ensure you continue to receive the 24/7 service you've come to expect, we've also transitioned nearly all of our associates to work from home.
Thank you for being part of the GEICO family. We value you and your business, and want to continue providing excellent support. We will continue to keep you updated.
Sincerely,
Todd Combs, President and CEO
I received the email too. So if I renewed my 6th month plan on 4/1, does that mean that I'll receive the 15% credit on 10/1?
