Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

CL rooms being removed is more likely to be because of the resorts having to operate at reduced capacity and the need for social/physical distancing in the lounges.

On one of the many forums I’ve read lately there was mention that hotels would be using an every other room policy, meaning that there would be an empty room between two occupied rooms. So right there - less rooms, and less CL rooms available at any given time.
Tables will need to be removed in the lounges in order to keep seated guests far enough apart as well, just as we are seeing in restaurants that have reopened under the new social/physical distancing regulations. Both of these requirements are likely the main factor behind the disappearing CL rooms - the CL availability, which gets booked far in advance has possibly already hit its limits under our current circumstances.

I just can’t see the NBA being a factor in CL at all. They will be in a very controlled bubble where everything is in one very well monitored and carefully maintained space.

I do agree with this line of thinking regarding CL. I am, however, perplexed with why the Contemporary is completely unavailable until late September. I’m not even going to try to go down any rabbit hole, but I’ve had a room there booked for about 11 months for early July, so I’m hoping we have some news on all of it soon.

Perhaps people booked & filled the limited availability at both the Tower & Atrium clubs thinking that the earlier rumours of the MK being the first park to reopen (and maybe the only park for awhile) could end up being true?

It’s not just the club level rooms. It’s every room category at the Contemporary that’s unavailable.

I was looking mostly at CR and YC/BC. Did you see it yesterday or this morning?
Just before I posted. I was looking at BWI, GF, Poly, CR & BC. Checking a random week in September and October and lots available.

I keep checking and rooms available for Sept and Oct. There was one week in late Sept that CR and WL had no availability.

Out of curiosity, I checked Club Level availability at the three Disney owned hotels at Disneyland, and I found no CL rooms being offered at any time during 2020 (I checked a random Wednesday each month from August to December). Since there is no connection between the NBA and CL service at Disneyland, this would support your theory that the unavailability of CL rooms has nothing to do with the NBA, and that this is more likely a Disney corporate decision to not offer CL rooms at either Disneyland or Disney World for the time being.

It’s not just the club level rooms. It’s every room category at the Contemporary that’s unavailable.
To add to the mystery, Bay Lake has availability. If they were closing CR for the NBA, they'd have to close Bay Lake as well- and I don't know how they could with it being DVC. Could just be that it's being reserved as a resort to move guests from CSR as well as combining from other Deluxes if they choose to not open them all.

Not only are all the CL rooms suddenly gone, all of CR is now unavailable as well as all of CSR, not just the towers. We don't know what it means, but it all started very close to the NBA latest announcement. Time will tell I suppose

That’s an interesting theory. I hadn’t thought of that.

Was just coming to post the same thing about Bay Lake. lol

A quick check of all the MK resorts show availability for September - WL is very limited near the end of September though.

So if someone has to move a CL reservation to a future date maybe they will give price protection. That could work out well as July/August are usually cheap. I would ask anyway, if they said I had to move my date.

I moved a July CL reservation to August, then to non-CL in Oct since there wasn't availability for my category. It was a lot cheaper :sunny:

Been at the beach for a week... come back and nearly every DIS Covid thread I follow has hundreds/thousands of posts and page after page of new content. And the punchline from them all is nothing is any different than before I left! :rotfl:

Guess it’s back to VRBO for more beach trips for us this summer. :beach: We had not taken a non-hotel trip anywhere in awhile - not going to lie, it was nice to have a home/separate place to stay given the current environment.
