Resort Change by Disney

Which resort are you supposed to be staying at? We've booked POR. I don't even want an upgrade, we would be happy to just modify to CBR. I might give it a couple of days and call back.

POFQ. We love how small it is and that’s the reason we chose it. Guess we’ll have to step out of our comfort zone though with a change. I’m certainly not keen on the idea of a cabin at ft wilderness

I don't know if I have it in me to try to call again tonight. I'd just like to get it over with, but fear I'll be disconnected again. What time do they start in the morning, 7 am?

At the three hour mark for guest services. The sweet relief I will feel when I hear a human voice.... wow

I'm using you as my judge for when I'm likely to get thru, since I know you're ahead of me in the queue. I'm at 4:15 total for this call, first hour and a half was waiting for regular reservations to pick up, have been waiting for guest services since. Hope they pick up soon for you!

After reading some of these posts, I feel lucky. I called after making park reservations and was charged $600 to change from YC to BLT. I thought about, felt sick about it, read some posts here, and called back.

After 3 hours, I was switched to CR so we have two beds and not a sofa bed. I was not charged the $600 after all. So glad I called back!

Just changed both reservations from POFQ Garden View to CBR Preferred Room with no change in rate. I think those rooms may be around same rate (rack room rates) or when I checked once before FQ room may have actually been a little higher. I haven't stayed at CBR but went with that due to Skyliner, which he said is supposed to be running. He also offered Wilderness Cabins (no thank you) and Coronada Springs (because our dates are late Oct and Dec so will be open then). I would like to stay there sometime but felt like CBR would provide quicker access to parks.
I hope everyone finally gets through - hang in there - I was on the phone 5+ hours but did get finally get through. Now where is that drink????:drinking1

Did you end up just waiting or did you call again? I've been worried about you!
Aww thanks! I kept hanging on to the original number and selected ‘add call’ while on hold and tried other numbers at the same time. All busy signals. Finally I hung up the original call (7 1/2 hours later) and eventually got through with a different number. I’ll be seeing 3 or 4 Disney phone numbers in my sleep tonight!

4 hour and 2 min mark. Hopefully “guest service” will hop on soon
( I have already been on 2 hour 30 min from my first attempt)

Just started my GS phone call journey. This thread has been super helpful as I decide how I want to word my initial question so I don't have to pay an upcharge. I'm currently schedule at ASMu for July 27th so I'm figuring I'll be switched to Pop which is totally cool by me!

Our resort change experience from today for reference:

Had a 5th sleeper option at CBR 7/12-7/18 and went through the ringer over the phone. Combined total of about 175 calls, two that made it through for a total of 4.5 hours, but dropped. Last call started with a CM, and I was forwarded to guest relations. After a 3.5 hour wait, the GR rep couldn't have been kinder/more gracious. The first thing she did was explain "rate protection" and immediately said we'd be receiving an upgrade to CR with a Lake View room. She even went as far as to repeat multiple times that our original purchase price at CBR would be upheld and read off the deposit we had already placed and the remaining balance. While a total of 8 hours on the phone was wildly frustrating at times (and I about lost my mind at the 473rd playing of "It's a Small World"), the payoff is totally worth it, at least in our estimation. Be sure to let the CM's you talk to know they're appreciated!

Thanks to all in this forum for sharing information throughout the day!

Best of luck to everyone still on the horn!

JUST GOT OFF THE CALL! Here's how it went with guest services:

Nice woman answered the phone and I nearly cried LOL. She took my reservation number, then said she would look to see what moderate was open then. Saw caribbean beach and she said she would check there, I asked about maybe doing contemporary or polynesian but she said she had to check the moderate first and if there weren't rooms she'd check those ones. Turns out there was availability for CB and she booked bf and I a King bed room near the main building! Went back and forth with king vs preferred but ended up on king at her recommendation. Hoping the skyliner is open by then!!!!! Didn't get an upcharge, actually got 50 bucks back which is nice. So hang in there everyone!

EDIT: if anyones ever stayed at CB, let me know! I've been to disney many times and have never stepped foot on that property, so all new territory for me!

I am approaching my 3 hour mark of being on hold. I think 45 minutes of that was waiting for the first CM who then transferred me to Guest Services. (This is also after about 172 attempts to call, but kept getting a busy signal)

That’s our exact date and resort and we’d have been switched over to POP.
