I have a Victorias Secret card that I never use. Is it better to keep these open or close the accounts?
No - I'm on an iPhone as well. And I am having the issue on both my laptop (a MacBook) and my work computer (an HP). Very strange. I guess I'll give it a few days & see if it straightens itself out. I can see offers only for my SW card - it shows that card number and does not give me a drop down to change it to either my Slate or my CSP.
General advice is to keep it open if it's an older card, which helps with average age of accounts. If you have a high CL, some people will keep those cards open to help with keeping credit utilization low.I have a Victorias Secret card that I never use. Quoting myself as the saga continues. UCT replied back that they can't help, there are no refunds but I could call xxx number they gave me, press 4 and ask for a supervisor. Calling that number there is no choice #4 and I got connected to Tours & Packages who said they don't do tickets and transferred me to Ticketing. I did ask for a supervisor but the woman on the phone said she could help. She told me if I purchase a new ticket, then send the old ticket with proof of a new one, they will refund the expired one. So I purchased a new $540 DLR ticket and will be very if I don't get refunded. My DLR saga continues. So I have 3 tix from 2019/20 and was unable to use them in 2021. 2 were obtained with TYP and one from UCT. All are expired.
UCT says must contact DLR, they can't fix.
First call to DLR, CM says Cx Travel (Citi travel partner for TYP) must call to get new tix issued; for UCT must show up to DLR ticket booth in person to upgrade to new ticket.
First call to Citi, rep super nice, takes my info and offers to call me back after he calls DLR and gets new tix. He calls back to say, DLR told him *I* should call but not until my dates are open as they are only selling tickets for dates open for reservations.
Second call to DLR yesterday (our travel dates are now open for res) CM insists all upgrades/new tickets must be obtained by the travel agency who booked them. This includes Cx Travel and UCT. After telling her Cx travel was told no on this last week, she insists she's right because any refund has to go back to original purchaser. No mention of having to show up in Anaheim in person for either set of tix. Phone call 30 minutes long, after hold of 5 minutes.
Called Cx Travel back, after multiple menus to get to Cruise dept, I hold 20 minutes and get disconnected. Next call, after waiting another 15 minutes, a person actually answers. I explain, rep is nice, says please hold while I call DLR. She comes back 10 minutes later saying the hold time is so long and they will be closing so she'll need to call Monday.
I have emailed UCT again to see what they say, but I'm sure they'll reiterate the "nothing they can do" which they already told me.
So after 1 1/2 hours on phone, I have no resolution and little hope for one at this point. Plus now the rep will be calling me back on Monday while I'm at work, which is uncomfortable at best (I don't have a desk job, so always have to try to step away and find a place to talk). Ugh.
10 charge and 5 cc though there may be a few dps of 6 on r/churning.
I'm trying to figure out what credit card we should have out 18 year old soon to be college freshman. We have her as a user on our BOA Cash Rewards Visa, but I'd like to get her a credit card for travel perks since she'll most likely be going to college in Arizona (we are in NJ) and flying back and forth a lot. She also has a business on Etsy, so maybe she should apply for a CIP?
Here are the cards I have:
Chase Sapphire Preferred
Chase Ink Preferred Bus
Chase Marriott Pref Business
Chase Marriott Premier Plus
Chase Freedom Unlimited
Chase United MPE
Amex Travel Card
Amex Everyday (I'm a user on my husband's)
Chase Sapphire Reserve (husband only)
Is there a list somewhere of which ones are technically charge? I keep trying to find it but they always say that AMEX cards are no longer traditional Charge cards....Are all of the Platinum cards considered Charge cards?
I believe I’ve read here and on Reddit that Chase usually wants to see that she’s had 1 year of credit history on her own before applying at Chase

i think japan will open by summer they finally opened up to students and business travelers in a month (I've been loosely following this)
Any card that is advertised as "no preset spending limit" is a charge card. Although I'm looking at the site now and I'm not seeing them advertised that way nowIs there a list somewhere of which ones are technically charge? She needs to build a relationship with Chase, I would start her out with a Freedom card, then after a year of good credit history try for a cobrand card. Chase usually wants a couple of years of history before they start giving premium travel cards (like CSP/CSR)I'm trying to figure out what credit card we should have out 18 year old soon to be college freshman. Better call and find out if it is still active. I found out that a lot of these cards get closed automatically due to inactivity and I never even find out. Macy's is the biggest culprit. I have had at least 2 Macy's cards closed over the last 20 years and I find out when I go use it (like 5 years later).
That's great news. Fingers crossed Japan opens up soon and flights restart.yeah, more confirmations this morning. going from 7 days quarantine to 3 days. hopefully the Sakura stays closed until they allow visitors in... ^_^
Also been watching Taiwan too, they are very similar to Japan. current plan for them is 10 day quarantine in march, if it goes well, then 7 days.
come on asia!
Not for Chase…but it will help with her credit history overallGood to know. Does being a user in my BoA count?
