Question about shuffling credit among Chase biz cards before I mess something up . . . I just got approved for a CIP, my 3rd Chase biz card. The CL is $5k, and my other two Chase biz cards (both CICs) have CLs of $6k and $10k. I've got a massive travel purchase coming up next month (my reason for getting the CIP). I know I can move credit from my other 2 cards to my CIP. Is there a minimum amount I need to leave behind on my CICs? Also, I looove my CICs, so I don't want to leave them with tiny CLs. After I make the travel purchase on my CIP and pay that off, can I then move credit back to the CICs from the CIP? Do I/should I wait a certain amount of time before doing so?

When my DD23 was in college, she first had a Discover and then a year later was approved for CF and then a CSP. She was denied a SW card before the CF.
What is the credit card she has in her own name?

She has a Citi Double Cash. Yesterday she had a fraudulent charge so her card has been cancelled and she's thinking she needs a backup card for these kinds of situations.

If its her first card with Chase, she may have to start that the CF Flex/CFU tier (she can try for CSP, but usually Chase likes to see a year of credit history before giving out their premium cards -- maybe her one existing card is enough). I would only suggest her using your income if she lives under your roof and you fully support her. If she has her own job and/or a separate address she should use her own income.

She does live at home. She pays all of her own bills (cell, car, insurance, gas) but her 'rent' is paid to Vanguard every month.

My DD21 would like a new credit card. She is an AU on many of ours and her credit score is 789. Her income is low, though. Is it true that she can use my income for her application?

I was thinking of referring her to the CSP, is that a good idea? She has a car loan and 1 credit card in her name only. What are the chances she can get approved?
She can use whatever income she has reasonable access to at that age. If you're paying for her lodging, insurance, loans, allowance, what-have-you, then it's reasonable to include those amounts into her income as well. You generally wouldn't expect a child to have full access to your household income, so I wouldn't necessarily put down the same amount on her application that you would use for yourself on an application. But they also aren't scrutinizing every detail of every application, so I wouldn't work it out to the penny either. A rough estimate for what you contribute to (or could contribute to) her finances shouldn't look out of the ordinary to their income models.

Chase generally likes to see at least 1 year of credit history on non-AU card(s) before approval. Have seen DPs of people getting the CSP as their first Chase card, so it's not inconceivable to try for that first if she's had her card for a while.

I’m looking at my Venture X rewards and a travel charge from January 30 is showing up as eligible to cover with points. The charge was for $336.92 and it triggered the $300 travel credit on February 4. If I choose to cover the charge with points does it put a credit to my balance even though most was “paid” with the travel credit?

I don't have any experience yet since I just got my Venture X but I do remember reading someone else post that they were able to use the credit on a charge that they covered with points. Sounds like it is working for people?

For the Amex Business bonus that needs 10 transactions, do my deposits count? I did 4 seperate ones. Just curious. I plan on doing some Amazon loads to get the rest of the transactions done. Maybe a small purchase.

If you're talking about the AmEx Business Checking bonus (https://www.americanexpress.com/en-us/business/checking/) then debit transactions don't count as qualifying activity, if that's what you were thinking. If your deposits were ACH transfers or mobile check deposits, then yes those count.

Free 2500 Avios by signing up for Qatar. DoC details Points posted right away. Must be 18+ or I would have signed up the kids too.

Birthdate is Month-Day-Year format. Seems to be a common mistake.
Month-Day-Year is a pretty typical US format. Is the problem that Qatar is looking for Day-Month-Year instead?

I guess I'll find out a bit later when I can setup my new Qatar account

I know you can take your CIC/CIUs down to $500 (possibly lower but I've never gone below $500). I believe you can reduce the CIPs as low as you want as well (as long as its above $380), but they would need a $5,000 minimum to PC upwards again later (if you need it to unlock a transfer partner).

Thanks! I only want to take the CICs down, to bolster up my CIP CL. But knowing that is helpful!

One reason I've liked having 5-5 as a bday. I don't have to pay attention to that stuff 😂

I prefer when booking a trip abroad when it starts sometime after the 12th of the month so I cannot make that mistake. I don’t plan for it but it’s so much easier when there is no way to mess it up like that.

huge vet bill spend. Need $1000 on each of our 2 cfu biz to meet msr. with low cl couldn't use. new venture x in drawer figuring we'd start it when those 2 finished. so wasted 5k on amex, although close to fnc on hilton. guess that'll teach me not to carry extra cards with me. of course if vet bill higher I'll try to spread it out!

thankfully champ responding and on the mend.

ugh figures, guess I'll be buying gift cards to finish!

The one time I let DH book our hotel in Spain for 9/8, we got there and they couldn't find any reservation for us. Turns out he got the day/month reversed and the ressie was for 8/9. Lost the 1 night non-refundable charge and had to pay for a new room. I book all our vacations now.

Has anyone filed for trip delay insurance? We had a >6 hour delay recently and I'm trying to file (used Cap 1 Venture X card). They are asking for a carrier statement on the reason for delay. We were just told at the time the pilot called in sick last minute and they had to find another one, but how do I get an official statement? I'm hoping to not jump through hoops to try to get this. It wasn't a lot of money, but I'm hoping to get reimbursed for our meals during the delay.

You'll need to ask the airline for a document you can provide.

I did it friends, I applied for a Chase card and remembered to unfreeze the correct credit report before applying. I applied for SW Plus, this card will extend DH's CP until 12/31/23 and I'll earn the CP.
This card also puts me at 5/24, until next month when I drop back to 3/24
Congrats party:
