Here's a viewpoint question, how often have any of you here switched out your CP person over 2 years? in all the years I've had it, I've chosen once and kept it..... I just last week called in to switch to my nephew for a Spring trip.... but now I'm thinking I want to switch it to my ds for winter trip, and then "hold" my nephews ticket on points for spring- book ds for winter and then switch back again, and it's making me anxious that I'll do it too many times, and run out of 'switches'...... my brain is running in circles with this question!
I've done it a couple of times, had DD but was flying only with DH so switched, then switched back to DD before the next trip.

Ok yeah, I feel like a bad CC wife now because I didn't prepare him well enough. DH just left on a trip and had just gotten his Amex Plat recently. He was planning to eat breakfast at one of the lounges and that didn't work out. I thought he'd at least be able to eat at the Club ATL one since it's a PP lounge 😕
As long as he has a PP card he can eat at The Clubs. They aren’t restaurants, they’re lounges…

Just fell back under 5/24 a few days ago. Started card one of my SW companion pass- approved today for the SW Perf Biz.

Q: Plan to close P2's SW card 30 days after AF posts, so around 1/11. I don't plan to app for my second biz card until 2/1. If P2 generates a support link and I use it, but their card is closed, will those support points post? I just realized this is the $99 card, so probably worth it to keep it open just for support points.

I don't know how long it normally takes for the $300 Venture X travel credit to post after making a travel purchase, but my purchase was made on October 13, and it credited on October 31 (which was honestly better than I expected).

Now, if they'll just give me the 12% back on my Best Western purchase, that would be cool!

And we decided to do a TSA precheck appointment for my husband instead of waiting for GE- maybe he will get it approved before we fly domestically at the end of this month. We can look at GE for him on the next card that has such a credit, perhaps.
In my experience it’s either almost immediately (2-3 biz days) or 2-3 billing cycles. No rhyme or reason in which that I’ve figured out.

Since you can change it three times per calendar year and it sounds like you have the points to "hold" the nephew's ticket for spring, I would do it. You can make the companion change via chat as well. As soon as your winter trip is complete, I would make the switch.

I have gotten MUCH more relaxed with booking companions. I used to do it immediately and now I do it maybe a month or two before. Yes, there is some risk there. But I am constantly checking for a drop in price and it's annoying to have to cancel the companion first. So now I just wait.

I'm planning to buy Universal Orlando tickets from Undercover Tourist on Sat to take advantage of BoA extra 2% promo. How do Universal tickets purchased from UT work for park entry? I tried asking UT chat and was told the emailed ticket barcode can be scanned at the gate or will-call kiosk. Does that mean it works at both? We're staying offsite and I just want to be able to enter the park without any added steps. I was specifically told by the chat rep not to add the ticket to the app because it would "mess it up."

thank you for this viewpoint! I didn't know I could do it via chat that sounds a lot easier!

I don't remember who was looking for Land's End discounts but if you're still needing them I got a text promo today for up to 60% off and free shipping. SM me if interested.

Does anyone know which Capital One cards are eligible for Taylor Swift presale? I have a Quicksilver and a 14-year-old who desperately wants tickets, so much so I'm willing to go to 5/24 and get a card that works if I need to, but would be happier if the QuickSilver does the trick. From Taylor Swift's site:
  • You must use an eligible Capital One Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card to complete your purchase. Excludes Capital One issued private label cards.
Thoughts?

bestbuy stacks with the +1 i just don't like buying from them i guess i might have to to burn the 25$
Curious what's wrong with Best Buy.

I probably will use the deal for Disney GCs even though 10 percent is not the greatest.

I need this info too.

Okay I've got 6 more pages to catch up on....but it's November and I think I might be ready for the MDD. EEEEEEkkkkk! I hit my spend on CIC#3 and got the 15k match. And I see my 80k from the Amex Gold Biz just hit my account. I have $200 left on my Hilton card for my FNC, which should be covered this weekend, LOL.

My CFF has a $17k CL because it's what I PC'd my CSR to. Should I lower that? I have the Chase IHG Traveler card. I never use it since I have the Premier and Biz. Should I cancel that to free up some CL too? I think I'm eligible to churn that card in Feb (I know I'd need to close the IHG Premier). I also have the Marriott card I might close, IDK. I'm torn on the FNC that comes with it, LOL. I never stay at Marriott's and my BF has the 5 FNC from the SUB this summer.

Signing up now means I have until Feb to meet the MSRs right? That gives me Christmas, my property taxes AND my mom's. So I think I should be able to hit the spends.

Okay back to reading, LOL.

i didn't know they sold gift cards :)
BestBuy is bad about honoring stuff like trade-ins and upgrades. they also used to have a great return policy on everything its been nerfed a lot of things are now 14 days.
A good example I upgraded my phone from google and got 500$ my friend tried to trade in the same phone for 550 BestBuy would rather cancel his trade-in (because they won't appraise it right not even what they quoted) and he also isn't getting the 200$ gift card. I thought this was a one-off but it's all over Reddit and tech blogs also. This is just the latest example I could think of. Also for years, they wouldn't match amazon at all. They used to have a decent rewards program too where if you spent 1k a year or 2k a year you would get a nice rebate they killed that off also. I can get 3% or even 10% from google or other companies and I think BestBuy is .5% (i don't know this figure for sure but I remember it getting dramatically slashed). With a shorter return policy and less of a rebate, i look elsewhere almost always.
Forgot to add the rebate now is 0.5% I want to say before if you spent 2k a year it was over 2% longer return policy free shipping on anything etc.

I am just a lurker but I have always booked my UO tickets through UT. You will get an email/text with the ticket barcode, I recommend screenshooting and saving in your photos (I "favorite" the photo in my iPhone for easy access). They can scan directly from your phone at the gate like a regular direct ticket, no need to go to a window. I usually print a copy and put in my bag just in case. Make sure you have it handy if you ride the Hogwarts Express as they scan it again there.

Sometimes the lockers require a ticket to scan so a paper copy can be handy as you can leave that in your pocket but might need to put the phone in the locker on a few of the big rides. Some people scan their drivers license and that works but I think only certain states will scan, mine doesn't. I believe team members also have little slips with a barcode you can use to scan instead of using your ticket. 50% of the time my locker never opens and I need them to open it for me anyways.

I would def lower the 17K CL on the CFF. If you can do w/o the IHG card then I'd cancel that too (but that's just me). I would keep the Marriott card open because I do get use out of the FNCs (I wish I had a 3rd FNC). It's a personal game, so it's up to you what cards you value the most and decide to keep open.

Good luck with the MDD! It's so worth the URs!

Has anyone had any luck getting asking for an extension on a FNC from Hilton? Just realized DH has one expiring and we have no time to use it.

I found this in an article - super glad I got my VX earlier this year!

Capital One says that The Eras Tour presale is open to all eligible U.S. Capital One Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cardholders. That means if you have a card like the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card, among many others, you are set.

A Capital One spokesperson says that even those with co-branded credit cards like The Capital One Walmart Rewards Card are eligible. The only cards that don't make the cut are private label cards that are issued through Capital One such as The Neiman Credit Card and others that aren't explicitly co-branded by Capital One.
