Hey, @nekonekoneko ! I have a suggestion for us to have our waffles and eat them too.

It's a little more work on your part (I'm sorry!), but something other threads for non rD events do is:
Update the first post/somewhere on the first page with latest updates
Update the title with when the last update happened
Post something like "first post/page updated with latest info!" to bump the thread up

Like maybe a section that says "latest updates" and then have update with day update happened.

That way people who don't like waffles can just go to the first post/page for updates and not have to even smell waffles . And on the plus we probably won't see any real updates from rD for months so won't be much for you to do until then on this front.

I think we're all agreed that even if there are bib drops that with the bots tracking those they will be gone before a post here can be made and seen. So those aren't really worth noting.

I really find it motivating to keep up with others here who are training for the same weekend I am. The whole weekend trip is the event for me as is the training for it. Also totally not trying to figure out a way to bring waffles for people on race days . I could get those little prepackaged Belgian ones ... But they wouldn't be Mickey!

I don't know what came over me because ferris wheels terrify the bejeezus out of me (I don't like chilling in a small basket so high up with so many stops), but I decided to give the swinging cars a go on my trip last week. Never again. I was so freaked out the entire time that I had a death grip on my seat. It also didn't help that I boarded the car with a family of three, and the 10-year old girl literally screamed bloody murder the entire time. I can say that I did it, but that was a one-and-done for me.

Yes, we were a one & done family for the swinging cars, but we do enjoy the stationary cars. The stationary cars go up the highest at the top. Good views.

In other news, I think I want to pre-order the Spirit Jersey, but I might wait until July after I come home from Disneyland Paris in case I find a good spirit jersey there. I think one will be enough.

I am trying to figure out if I want to preorder... first issue if there is a women's version of the jackets and shirts. Men sizing does not work for my short chubby self. It is too big and small all at the same time. The second issue is these bundles include thing I do not want. Why cannot I just not order the medal replica pin... why do i have to get all pins? I just want that one... bah. The loungfly I think is the only thing I am going to pre order since I have sizing issues on the clothes and by extra stuff with the other stuff. Also I hate they still cannot apply our discount.

This time though, I might make an exception as I'm worried that merchandise is going to be a madhouse....

That's fine, and actually sounds like a good idea!

Until we got some real info, I kept away from wanting to do any kind of WAFDL, just so we didn't get registration lost in the discussion. Now that registration has come (and pretty much gone), we're in a real lull until any new information comes out. Course maps, Expo location, the time the races start, reveals of the merch and medals. But, by and large, who is in is in.

Probably if there are any charity bibs still hanging around,according to @sandam1 on post 1193, the charities did not get many Dumbo bibs at all. They seem to still have a bunch of 10k bibs.

I think most of the pertinent information we need that we have is on the first post. As more info comes up, I will update it. The last real update I made to that page was on registration day, as people were telling Disney to shut up and take their money!

I'm definitely going to preorder since I don't get in until Friday. Most of this stuff has great resale value, and I'm sure it will be doubly true for this race, so I don't really see the harm.

Ok thanks - That actually makes sense that one would be more specific race related and one would be more general. Just about to order the 134.99 package and it's like 155 with the tax and there's a platform fee smh- just FYI if anyone is going to purchase in the future.

And I live in AZ so spirit Jersey weather is like two months. Except for this year. We have currently snow on the mountains just North of Phoenix That you can see clearly from town. But normally it’s only long sleeve shirt weather for a minute.

And I never know what size Jersey to get! I even tried one on on our recent Disney cruise and I cant remember what size I was. I think a Medium. I’m like a size 16 womens if anyone has thoughts. I’d love to say I’ll be smaller but then…. Hahaha…. But let’s be real.

That's another thing I hate about pre-ordering, Disney clothing sizing is all over the place and there's no ability to exchange/return pre-ordered merch.

For example:
My 2022 women's small Princess weekend fleece jacket? Sizing is perfect for me and I am in fact wearing it at this very moment.

My 2018 women's small MW jacket? Fits like a neoprene dive jacket. (Aka, everything zips, but very tight.)

Same can be seen with race shirts. The women's MW race shirts were super low cut in 2023 compared to previous years. I layered one on top of the previous year's shirt and the previous year had 2 inches more fabric at the neck V. And as I came to find out, it is darn near impossible to exchange Dopey shirts for men's small.

I’m a 14 women’s and I get medium spirit jerseys. I’m not a fan of drowning in sweatshirts, which is what happens if I try a spirit jersey in my usual Disney size of women’s XL.

But for real, glad we're back!

I really should start planning my costumes soon. Yeah, lots of time, but I know I'll wait until the last minute if I don't start planning and if the weather is still being wacky I should have back up plans to my back up plans for costumes.

Low key considering Dumbo for me and Timothy for my travel panda stuffy for the half marathon . Not big on Dumbo, but that seems like an obvious choice. Either half or the 10k. Not sure . Probably depends what else I choose for the other days and how annoying each costume would be to wear.

Celebration should be lasting the typical 18 months. But fireworks will likely only be on weekends that time of year since holiday season will be over. Projections should still run, though.
