I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

I'm hoping one of you credit card gurus can help me with this. I have 2 Chase cards and both are showing no fee/interest options for My Chase Plans. I understand that it's typical for the first My Chase Plan to be free. My question is does that apply per person or per card?

I'm looking to make a few large purchases in the coming months and it would be awesome if I could get the free My Chase Plan x2.

I chatted 5 times :/ and finally got an offer on the 30th day. I was going to keep it anyway but I was glad to get something (25K points for $3K spend)
What is the 30th day? Is than after you paid it?

Thanks for the comments on Turo. I chatted with my insurance and this is what they told me:

So, it makes me feel good about the insurance other than the loss of use part. I'm not sure how the chase and other coverages deal with that either to be honest.

I'll probably go with Turo because I do like the fact that you can choose exactly the kind of car that you will be driving. With the AmEx extra discount, it's a really good deal to get a nice car.
I work in insurance. Please keep in mind that while the above is true it applies to cars of similar value to the cars on your policy. It’s not intended for vehicles of much higher value. Always check with your auto insurance carrier for specifics. I have been talking a lot of insurance claims on rental cars recently.

I see. That makes sense. That's probably going to be tomorrow. I'll have him try again.
Ok... the due date is Sunday which is 25 days. Should be okay and then call next week? I'm very confused.

It doesn't matter when the due date is. If you paid it, then canceled (within 30 days of the AF posting), you'd get a refund.

Note that even if you decide to keep the card, 30 days after the AF is the last day to accept a retention offer. If you accept one after that, it commits you to the current AF as well as the next one (since you're committing to holding the card another year).

Actually if you can get a new card it might be more lucrative. Do you have anything that might count as a business (selling on EBay, tutoring, rental properties, consulting, etc, just about anything) because a biz card might be a good fit. Chase has Ink Unlimited and Ink Cash, both no AF cards with a 75,000 UR SUB, which have 0% interest for the first 12 months. Of course we don't recommend buying things you can't afford and always recommend not paying interest (ie paying balances monthly) but if you have the money but just want to delay payment to accrue interest elsewhere it might be an option.

Does anyone ever start planning a trip and all of the sudden it just doesn’t sound right? Our flights are open dates we need for our Alaskan cruise next June. I just can’t seem to pull the trigger. It’s just not the trip I really want which would be a cruise that spends maybe more time in Alaska ports like a one way cruise. I’m really thinking maybe I should push it back a year or two to when the kids are a little older so we can handle a longer, more involved trip. I need more vacation time and more money to make the trip I really want so I’m thinking just wait?

We would probably just head to Florida next June if we cancel. I just added on a contract at VGF so it would be pretty cheap to just use the extra points we got. Plus the little kids really want to go to Discovery Cove.

Yeah, I’m going through this right now as well. I agree, some times the more I think about a particular trip the more it seems forced, or like I’m settling. Also these free trips are far from free. You’re not alone.

Having gone on a back up trip when my actual trip couldn't happen in 2021, if you don't feel like it's the trip you want don't go. Did I still have fun, sure and I needed to break from work, but it wasn't where I wanted to be.

AF for DW’s AMEX platinum hit and they offered 15k MR after $3k spend. They offered the same on the gold card but that seems really low for the platinum. I told them I would think about it. Has anyone ever tried again and gotten a higher offer?

We tried planning a trip to Toronto and it felt so forced. We felt like we were having a hard time getting excited and finding things to do there so we dropped it and now we’re going to Germany instead!

I was considering one of the Ink cards (originally Preferred due to the higher SUB and earning rate) but the others with 0% could also work, although it might be a stretch getting a business card to begin with.

I figured if I could get the My Chase Plan free for two cards, I would be getting 0% for 24 months without having to deal with opening another card.

Given interest rates these days, I'm just looking to delay payments as long as possible to keep my money working. I won't be paying any interest or fees along the way.

Not sure how large a purchase you are looking to make but usually the credit limits given on the Ink cards are much lower than personal cards…IME usually in the $3,000-$6,000 range.

SO I got the dreaded "send us front/back image of your license,ss#,and utility bill notice from the Wyndham Biz app..... wwyd? I need to fax all of this stuff randomly for a cc? I don't know if I want to do that....

I got a 6k limit on my last ink. I've been paying it off before the due date. The other option is to transfer available credit balances from other cards.

That is true. My CIU approved this week was $4k but I can easily transfer credit as I have 4 other Inks. I think of 2-3k as a large purchase and would consider multiple cards if I had a purchase bigger than that (apparently I am not a big spender. Lol)
