Safe travels to all of you. My daughter and I got back yesterday from a great, but hot trip. Looking forward to the next one!!

It's 2:30 AM Just checking my email and if anyone posted here since yesterday. Like Lizzyb said I guess everyone is gone, back, or packing. Well time to set my iPad to airplane mode and load the van. Looking forward to seeing ever ones pictures when I get back.

We were supposed to leave on 8/29, but our flights were cancelled due to Hurricane Irene.....so we're not leaving until 8/31. We even had to lose out on our villa because there were none for the date change, but it's OK. We're safe and sound and happy we still get to go. Any later and we would have had to cancel the whole trip because DD has to start school next week.

We just got back yesterday and had the time of our lives! The entire trip we must have been covered in pixedust!

First off we got upgraded to a river view room for no extra charge in the freshly refurbished Acadia House at POR.

Before we went I kept hearing about how bad the busses were at POR. Well let me tell you all but once our bus was the first bus to arrive when we got to a bus stop. It was as if the bus diver saw that Stan Solo was heading to a bus stop and he/she changed their destination just for us .

At every park we nailed the shows and rides with very little to no wait time. The only ride that we had a long wait for was Spaceship Earth but the que was so much fun we did not mind the wait.

Every day we did one park and the two water parks from rope drop to well after closing (this is not what we planed to do we did plan to go back in the afternoon for a rest and a swim. If fact we never even put one foot in our resort pools). We are Sooooo tired and I have a blister on my little toe that actualy bigger then my toe ,but we had a blast and are glad we did our vacation this way.

All in all we had a total ball and already booked our second trip for next year!

Got back home late Saturday night. We had a great time overall, however, a few things kept us from having an even better time - particularly the weather (in WDW and back home, which obviously we can't do anything about). We were able to fly down to MCO without a problem ahead of Irene on Friday...however, our first couple of of days we were worried about the house. We got the word it turned out fine Monday morning. Then, on Wednesday, my mother had to have emergency gall bladder surgery. So we had that to worry about (everything went well and she's doing fine). So unfortunately, for a good chunk of the trip we couldn't fully commit mentally to enjoying ourselves (I hope that makes sense) as we had stuff to worry about in the back of our minds. Throw in a few days of prolonged rain - including the rain shutting down Fantasmic! on us - plus a few minor issues at the Beach Club and it was all just slightly less magical than it could have been.

Are you sure you waited long on Spaceship Earth and not some other ride? It rarely ever has a long line, and the queue is all outside so I wouldn't call it fun?

We're back!


The trip was wonderful. We had a great time. It wasn't as hot as I expected. I mean it was hot, but totally doable. We did get several days of rain (about 2-3 hours on about 5 of the days), but it didn't really interfere with our plans too much. CBR was great and the Poly was fabulous. Crowds were low for the most part. Mostly walk-ons at MK. Still long waits at Epcot & DHS for Soarin, TT, and TSM. We had some good meals and some not so good meals. Did a lot of shopping - 3 trips to DTD!


I'm working on getting the pics loaded today! (In-between doing laundry and getting things ready for the first day of school tomorrow)

I liked it. It is a beautiful resort but big. I did find that the CM there were not very friendly though.. in fact the person that checked me in was the rudest I have ever encountered.

I encountered very friendly CM everywhere but the Pepper Market. I might has well have been invisible there. Stood for a kid's meal for my son for 10 minutes before ever being acknowledged a couple times.

They had only 1 person working online check-in and I stood there as the next in line the whole time it took the 3 cm doing regular check in. In fact, I was escorted down to regular check in because the online check in cm was helping 1 family the entire time I was there. But once I got checked-in, the magic happened with a free upgrade to WATER VIEW!!! From that moment on it was the best CSR visit.

LOVED LOVED LOVED the pool activities, movies and campfires. Great new addition! Hope it continues! We head back to CSR in Oct!!

I will be giving an ear full when I do my online survey about this trip, concerning the lack of acknowledgement and disappearing servers at the Pepper Market. And giving full praise for all other aspects of our trip!!

I agree about the Pepper Market. I much prefer the traditional cafeteria style restaurants. The servers didn't do much and yet you are expected to give them a tip. As far as ignoring you, I found the dessert counter was the worst for that.

I loved the activities that they had also.
