Barbie finds her Prince Charming- our English wedding & Disneymoon June 2011!

You two are cute! I love your story. Your venue is amazing!! It looks so regal. I can't wait to read more about your special day!!!

Nice to see another UK bride! Love all your plans, and you two are so cute - can't wait to read more!

It will absolutely fly by!

My goodness your venue is beautiful!!! I love how it looks like a fairytale, very good idea on the disney touches I was thinking about doing the same thing in my bouquet. I heard the GF is lovely, I planning on staying at SSR or AKL, there are just so many great places to choose from!

Congrats! You and your DF are such a cute couple! I love your venue, it's so beautiful and is like something out of a fairy tale. I think it will be great to add little Disney touches will be perfect.

I have never been on a cruise, but I've heard Disney cruises are the best and the Grand Floridian is amazing. We stayed there last June and had a wonderful time and are really looking forward to going back in August.

Looking forward to hearing more about your plans.

That looks like such a beautiful place for a wedding! I can't wait to hear more about your plans.

Welcome everyone!
I really love our venue and we're so excited about it! When we first visited there, it was a cold foggy January day.. but the hotel still looked beautiful, fingers crossed June 2011 is warm & sunny so it looks even better! ;)

I have just sorted out our wedding insurance! Never heard of it before I started this wedding planning & research... but it makes sense, this is probably the biggest event we'll ever have to plan and it's nice to have peace of mind in case something goes wrong... I really hope nothing does though! :rotfl:

Disneymoon!

So – as the wedding is on Saturday 18th June – I'm planning to head off on our honeymoon on the Monday.

Rough plans so far...

Monday 20th – fly from London to MCO, get a limo/town car to WDW – stay at Boardwalk Villas for one night, probably go into Epcot for a light meal & watch Illuminations.

Tuesday 21st – morning in WDW then lunchtime get the DCL coach to Port Canaveral to board the Disney Dream for the 5 night Bahamas Cruise!

DCLship.jpg

I would really love a verandah room if possible – I am dreaming of standing on the balcony of our stateroom, watching the ocean as we sail along!

Sunday 26th – return to Port Canaveral, get the coach back to WDW for 7 nights at the Grand Floridian!

GrandFloridian.jpg

I'd plan to take the week in WDW at a really relaxed pace – no rushing around for rides & early morning entry (although we probably will!). I'd love to spend some days around the pool, visit the spa, do some backstage tours etc.

ADRs I definitely want to make are..

Victoria & Albert's
Citricos
Narcoossees
California Grill
Le Cellier
Chefs de France

.. and many more no doubt!

So that's it so far! .. I have so many ideas and things to think about that I would appreciate any other brides/DISers thoughts!

A 5 day cruise would be amazing, have you booked it yet? I think it's really cool that Disney allows people to book so far in advanced. How long are you going to be staying at Disney? We want to shoot between 1 to 2 weeks so we might hold off on the Disney Cruise that we were thinking about taking so we can stay at Disney longer. I am really looking forward to the restaurants at Disney this time around because the last time DF and I went we didn't get to go to any of the ones in GF and Le Cellier was completely booked when we went. The Boardwalk Rooms sound so lovely, and the venue would be amazing from the suites with all the lights and everything. I was checking out a resort thread on the boards and pictures of the Boardwalk were amazing. What are your wedding colors and I want to see you cake ideas :)

Wow.... that place is spectacular. Its like a castle!! You definitely will be a Disney Princess. It will be so easy to make it like a Disney wedding with that place! It makes me want to visit England even more than I already do! Maybe sometime in the next couple years. Once my son is solidly off to college and my older daughter who is married will be finally living together with her soldier husband (he's in Iraq now) not in my house. Then we might end up bringing our little one with us.

I wonder how old that mansion/castle place is? Its so amazing. You're wedding with be so wonderful! You are a very lucky girl. :bride:

What a lovely engagement story :lovestruc

Cannot wait to read more :goodvibes

Thank you Mindy :goodvibes - the hotel was built in the 19th century I believe!
Hope you get over here one day.. there is so much to see, although everything will probably seem really small & quaint compared to in the USA! :goodvibes

Hi! Thank you for your comments - we've not booked the cruise yet, DF's parents have kindly said they'll pay for our honeymoon :lovestruc so we have to talk budgets with them soon! I want to book the cruise asap though, I believe the prices just go up & up - so it's best to book early?! :yay:
We hope to stay at the GF for 7 nights after the cruise :cloud9:

Colour scheme ideas etc all coming soon!

Hey Emma! I'm excited to hear all about your plans! You guys are adorable! Congrats on being able to buy a house! I can't see DH and I buy a house any time in the near future! The area where we live is one of the worst in the country as far as real estate and taxes.

LOVE the venue for your wedding! It's so elegant and VERY TOT!

Your thinking for the honeymoon is exactly what we thought! We wanted to do WDW but switch it up with something a little more "honeymoony" so we threw in the cruise. I like that you are doing the cruise first, we did it after a week in the parks and had a really hard time settling down after a week of go go go!

Can't wait to hear more!

Hi Nikki thanks for joining!!

I am so so pleased with our venue, it's really romantic & beautiful!

I really love having our own house, it's quite unusual in England to have a mortgage at our age .. but I love our little home! :lovestruc

Lol I got the idea from you & Tom to do the Disney cruise first.. just in case we don't enjoy all of it, at least I'll know we've got a week in WDW to look forward to.. fingers crossed! :goodvibes

Just been in touch with a travel agent today about booking the cruise... watch this space!! :yay:

I haven't posted in a bit and I just wanted to say I LOVE your venue for the wedding. How romantic!! And you'll love the Disney Cruise. I went on a 3-day and just loved it. Df hasn't been and I've been trying to convince him.

Hey MainStMandy... didn't I just see you on the March board? We're going again at the end of March! The one thing Emma about Disney... there is NO chance of not enjoying something! My BIL who is not a "Disney" person :scared1: went with my sister on an Adventures By Disney trip to Germany. He totally loved it so much, that they've scheduled another Adventures trip to the Grand Canyon and also a Disney Cruise! I really wish we could go on a Disney Cruise soon. We went on our first cruise in Aug. 08 to Alaska, but it was Royal Caribbean, not Disney:sad2: Hopefully by 2011:banana: You are lucky to be going on one as part of your honeymoon.

Hi everyone!
So.. some exciting honeymoon news... we've reserved our place on the Disney Dream cruise!! :yay:

We set sail on June 21st for 5 nights - two stops at Castaway Cay & one at Nassau!

I used a specialist Disney travel agent for the first time and I'm really impressed - very professional, and she is going to keep her eye out for promotions & price changes over the next 15 months in case we can get a better deal! :goodvibes

We went for a catergory 5 stateroom on Deck 10 - with it's own verandah :cloud9:

So the plan will be to fly to MCO on Monday 20th - spend one night at a DVC resort, then after the cruise book one week's stay at the Grand Floridian!
It's too early to book any of that though lol :rolleyes1

Really happy and excited!!

Woooo Hooooo!!! :cool1: So exciting!! The veranda is important! It's wonderful! What TA did you use?

Yay for booking a cruise on the Disney Dream! It looks so amazing! Me and DF are already talking about a one year anniversary on the dream! Castaway Cay is sooo beautiful! You guys will have a great time.

How exciting congrats. You are going to have such a lovely honeymoon :)

Do you mind me asking which agent you used?

WOW your venue is gorgeous. It looks like it's from a storybook, I love it! :lovestruc

Congrats on getting your cruise booked!! Your ADR list looks great too.
