DarlingDumbo's Stomach Saga <With Pictures> UPDATED 11/9

We were enjoying ourselves walking through the shops in World Showcase, I attempted to buy something from every country. I still was not right and began to get progressively worse. My mom and I contemplated canceling our ADR for Alfredo’s, my mom decided to just walk over to Alfredo’s to see if they had an early ADR. We were in luck they had a 3:30 ADR available, how wonderful! So we decided to bump up our dinner and see if I would be able to eat anything.

We still had some time to kill before our ADR so we headed over to Maelstrom, FYI: This was our longest wait of our entire trip, 30mins! Now you know why it’s a fastpass hahaha! After the Cool Maelstrom ride I began to feel a bit better. We took a leisurely stroll back to Italy for our early dinner.

We were seated promptly even though there was quite a crowd. Our adorable waiter Andrea came to our table to greet us; he looked like one of Cinderella’s mice. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the DDP. He took our drink orders first and return quickly with our drinks. When he returned he asked if we were ready to order our appetizers and we did. I ordered the Caesar salad which was amazing, even with a belly ache! My mom got the Misto di Insalate dell 'Orto - a salad of wild greens with sweet grape tomatoes and our Italian raspberry vinaigrette dressing, she enjoyed this as well. We ordered our entrees and they arrived just as we were finishing our salads. I ordered the lasagna which was very good and consisted of laid out noodles instead of the normal square lasagna. My mom got the Tagliolini Alla Vodka con Gamberoni - homemade tagliolini pasta in a tomato, cream and pepper-infused vodka sauce served with shrimp, she thought it was good but could not finish it because she was stuffed. Even though we didn’t finish our entrees we couldn’t pass up dessert. My mom convinced me into ordered Andrea’s suggest dessert, the sampler dish for two. This dessert contained chocolate cake, which I loved, chocolate mouse which my mom ate and enjoyed, and some type of flan like dessert that my mom ate as well. The dessert also had a cannoli, and my mom and I both don’t like cannolis so it went untouched.

SERVICE: The service was wonderful. We could have done without Andrea saying Perfecto! After every selection we made, but that was minor. He was knowledgeable of the DDP and made suggestions that were helpful. Also other servers helped Andrea clear our table or bring drink refills if he was busy. The hostess was also wonderful for allowing us to change our ADR at such little notice!

SIZE: The portions were huge and very satisfying! We didn’t finish each course in order to save room for the following item.

QUALITY: I’ve eaten American Italian food as well as Italian Italian food and can confidently say that Alfredo’s has blended the two together wonderfully! P.S. If you’re ever at Alfredo’s get the Caesar salad it has bits of bacon and it is so delicious.

Oh my!!! I forgot how good this place was when we went last year! Thanks for reminding me! I must make an ADR for our almost planned trip of 2007.

Love your reviews and pictures. Gives us a great idea of the portions and whether to share a meal or not.

Wow I liked your review of Alfredo's. I was debating on where to eat in Epcot when we go on our next trip. I figured if all else fails, we'll eat at Le Cellier again, but those dishes look amazing!

Great reviews!!! Soryy that you didn't feel well. my poor daughter had a stomach virus on our last trip. Poor kid, here I was dragging her to the BBB and 1900 Park Fare and she had an upset belly! :guilty: She tried to make the bst of it, but I was bummed! I can't wait for the rest of your reviews!!!!

Its an Itzakadoozie ice pop.
To anyone still following this thread have no fear I will eventually update it lol!

I just found the restaurant review boards yesterday, and am hooked. I'm really enjoying your review. I can't wait to go to Crystal Palace. Loved the saltine report. Hope you got better soon. It's so awful to be sick on vacation. Thanks.

Yay I’m actually going to finish this review!

It’s our last day :sad2: . But I feel better :cool1:.
We had an ADR for a late breakfast/brunch at 1900 Park Fare. The wait was a little long but I didn’t mind because we were watching all of the children meet Mary Poppins for the first time. We finally are seated and are met by our pleasant server, she instructs us to help ourselves to the buffet and we were off.

Even though I was feeling better I didn’t want to overdo it. I tried all the regulars’ eggs, bacon, potatoes (from the children’s buffet), Mickey waffle, and assorted pastries. Ok well maybe I did over do it haha! But I felt better and wanted to celebrate!

My only complaint about 1900 Park Fare was the character interaction. Their pattern of viewing tables must have gotten messed up. Many tables had eaten their entire breakfast and not seen one character. For us we met with tigger first, then finished our meal, and the rest of the characters bombarded us at the end. Hopefully it was just an off day and they got it all fixed after we left.

SERVICE: Our server was pleasant but didn’t go above and beyond to help us. At times I felt I was bothering her by asking for some more juice or coffee.

SIZE: Well it’s a buffet so it’s all you care to eat, and the food was restocked quickly. I did find the selection to be quite blah and I just kept getting the same thing every time I went up to the buffet.

QUALITY: The food was fresh and hot, with the exception of the children’s buffet. The food on the children’s buffet seemed a little greasy as it had been sitting for a bit.

CHARACTER INTERACTION: Poor at best. It was so sad to see so many disappointed children. I do believe the wait to get into the restaurant was because of the poor character interaction, because many people were waiting for characters after their meals were finished.

Awesome dining review. Really enjoyed reading it. Love that you had pictures for pretty much everything including the food court items as no one ever seems to post things from there. :)
