A report from Business Insider claims that former Disney CEO Bob Iger has called the appointment of Bob Chapek to CEO his worst business decision. Iger, who wanted to go out on top, was forced into a muddy transition due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A report from Business Insider claims that former Disney CEO Bob Iger has called the appointment of Bob Chapek to CEO his worst business decision. Iger, who wanted to go out on top, was forced into a muddy transition due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The report details a shakey transition between Iger and Chapek as Iger decided to stay more involved with helping Chapek navigate the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic. Even before Iger stepped down, the Board of Directors reportedly noticed that he was having difficulties in choosing a successor. Iger reportedly lined up Jay Rasulo and Tom Staggs as successors, but both left the company before Iger ultimately stepped down.

Canada Far and Wide Attraction Converted Into Global Marketplace for 2022 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival

Guests looking to beat the heat during the 2022 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival can head indoors in the Canada Pavilion to find the Appleseed Orchard Global Marketplace. Appleseed Orchard takes over the Canada Far and Wide CircleVision theater once again this year as Disney looks to provide guests relief from hot weather and afternoon thunderstorms so common in Central Florida during the summer. The Canada Far and Wide attraction film does not play during the Festival.

Significant permit filed for the PLAY! Pavilion at EPCOT suggests a possible opening timeframe​

The permit has the vague description of "General Contractor Package," but it is assigned to Balfour Beatty Construction, one of Disney's main contractors for large projects. The expiration date for the permit is extended beyond the standard 12 months to December 31, 2024. Although permit dates are not always a precise indicator of timings, this date does suggest that a late 2024 or early 2025 opening may be in the plans. It makes me sad that they do this. The show is so beautiful. My husband is Canadian and moved down to Cali two years ago, and when he saw this show in January it made him so homesick that we was crying during it. He told me it was the perfect showcase of his home. I know he’d be really bummed if he went to Epcot during a time when it was closed for a refreshment area.

In-Park Promotional Filming Begins for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland

According to video captured by justmousinaround on Instagram, there was some in-park filming taking place in New Orleans Square at Disneyland today. The promotional filming was likely for the upcoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which will replace Splash Mountain at both Disneyland and in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.

Severe Thunderstorm With Quarter-Size Hail Reported at Disney World

A severe thunderstorm is moving through Walt Disney World and there are reports of quarter-size hail in the area. The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the area through 6:45pm.

At 6:20pm a severe thunderstorm was located over Bay Lake with wind gusts of 60mph and quarter-size hail. Hail damage to vehicles is expected and wind damage is possible.

Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular Not Ready for Disney Wish Maiden Voyage

Disney Cruise Line is sending out emails to guests booked on this week’s Maiden Voyage of the Disney Wish to share news that Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectactular will not be ready for the Maiden Voyage.

According to the email included below, Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectactular is still in rehearsals. However, Disney Seas the Adventure and The Little Mermaid, as well as other special entertainment, will be available in The Walt Disney Theatre.
