Related question: if I buy an initial contact at Animal Kingdom of 100 points, and then but a contract there for 50 points later on, do those contracts become one or remain separate? I'm wondering mostly as it would pertain to selling off the points. Assume same use year for both contracts.

The contracts remain separate, but if they are the same use year and resort, you can use them at the same time to book your reservations. An interesting feature is that you can choose which contract to use first, and which to use second, which would allow you to accumulate excess points in one contract. You'd do this to make banking points easier. There are other scenarios where that can be useful, such as when you might sell transferred points, or when you may choose to sell a contract and want to sell it stripped of points.
