Making Wishes Come True

I think any solitaire diamond (real or not) has a real classic look to it, I saw so close to going down the not real road myself, just because of the $$ such alot to wear on a hand
I ended up with a solitaire princess cut which is beautiful, alot of people comment on it, but I do have to take it off at work in colder weather because i'm so paranoid it's going to come off :scared1:
I had never really thought of rings until we got engaged, my engagement was unexpected (half cut after a night at the casino, my response "are you serious?" :lmao:)
Secrets sshhh have a look, I love their stuff!

ooooohhhh, I do love a romantic proposal ......

so kids........dont drink, drive or get engaged if your over the limit:stir:

ahhh.. the crazy things we do when we are young, and would kill our kids if they did the same.....its surprising we all made it to the age we are now..:crowded:

I'm no longer a pirate..I am now a fireman :firefight

damn you becpee......we have hijacked this thread again...sorry A1506...

lol. i'm not a thread policewoman (ooh, a police emoticon would be cute).

i like hearing other's stories/perspectives etc.

i wish i'd done crazy things when i was younger. instead, i made silly decisions.

so... this trip.. carlo and i are going to be a little wild n crazy and we're so totally looking forward to it.

i think i'm going down the road of the round solitaire (man made, right now and we'll replace it later on). it's classic and understated and won't go out of style .. kinda like me :) lol. who am i kidding??

but still. i think carlo is still shaping up his ideas and will probably come back on and seek more feedback.

thanks... you guys rock.

ok, crazy/ silly its all relative...:clown:

the one thing i regret most is giving away all my 80's clothes, little did I know they would come back in fashion:moped:

oh, and not putting more $$$$ in my super before I had kids :offtopic:

lol. i hated the 80s. with a passion !!

i regret spending all my money on my sister's harry potter collectibles addiction (so much money, and i have nothing to show for it) and my ex's education/computers he needed etc. (so much money, and nothing to show there either).

so many trips i could have had. but ahhh. i'm still young enough to go wild & crazy right??? right? please tell me i can go wild and crazy :)

I suppose you'd have to have lived thru the 80's to appreciate them... that's why those of us in our 40's are so "special"....:bitelip:

I guess thats why they have the saying "if only I knew then what I know now".....but that would just take all the fun out of it...

and oh yes, you still have time to go wild and crazy, but just do it responsibly keeping all arms and legs within the vehicle at all times...oh , and please watch you're step taking small children by the scruff of the neck, oops, I meant hand:crowded:

oh and speaking of taking small children by the neck, my dog (Minnie-Moo) just climbed up onto the coffee table to finish the kids tiny teddies....grrrrrrrrr

My wasted money? Alcohol
How many crazy weekend benders did I have? Countless ::yes::

Alicia, at least somebody got something out of your money, all I got was a hangover :lmao:

Go the solitaire, if I went the Secrets option i'd have a much bigger rock on my hand LOL I nearly died when my friend got engaged, her rock is literally 3 times the size of mine, i'd be worried somebody would chop my hand off :scared1:

Age is just a number :goodvibes

money i wasted over the years....

vinyl records- especially singles (how many 12 inch singles of wham does one girl need?)
cassettes
floppy discs
laser discs
cd's
star trek figures/playsets/books/signed autographs etc etc etc for my DS1 :offtopic:

best money ever spent...

Air conditioning in the car in 1990...:drive: added option.
oh, and
private education for the boys i guess..

lol. i lived through the 80s. and i hated every second of it. carlo though, who is only 3 yrs older than me.. loved the 80s and to this day a good keytair solo in a power ballad gets him all misty.

i really can't wait to have kids and have that joy that they bring to you... and all the hassles and wonder and inconvenience and magic that being a parent means.

until then... i guess i'll just have to travel and drink and save and go a little wild :)

i think i'm decided on the solitaire in the 1ct stone. they go .75, or 2 but i think the 2ct is just too big for me... i'd be afraid it would look fake...

i'm one of those people. i don't mind if it's fake, i mind if it looks fake. lol.

Oh yeah I'm an eighties girl - the perm, the leather jacket (tailor made in Bali, no less), the acid wash baggy jeans - oh its all bad!!!! :faint:

But the music was great!!!!

one more thing, I seem to have spent my entire life being sensible with money - and it hasn't got me any further ahead than anyone else -:confused3

Maybe I should start being more reckless, cause it all works out in the end!!

well we had our 2011 trip, and now the cruise/dlr trip in 2012, and the wdw/wwohp/dlr/dcl cruise planned for 2013 -- not sure about 2014 yet, but we just realised that 2015 is the 60th anniversary, so we'll have to go back for that... then maybe europe. who can say?

or maybe we'll have kids by then???? omg. i'm just taking it 12 mths at a time. yes. that is what i will do :)

its' High waisted acid wash jeans thank you:faint:

at least they are more comfy than the hipster crap we have now....I've seen more "whale tales" on a Saturday @ westfield food court than have been sighted on whale watching trips in alaska in a year :rotfl:

ok, when did i turn into my mother???:furious:

karen i do the same thing.

i go to shopping centres and make comments like 'the things these girls are wearing these days' and 'i would never let my daughter out of the house wearing that' and 'omg, did she even look in a mirror before she left the house'

when did i turn into my mother/grandmother?????

also honey... sorry for hijacking your thread, we got a little :offtopic:...

i'll disappear again and you can run your ideas past the rest of the board :surfweb:

That is ok honey... I'm used to it :rotfl:

So back to the topic. Since Alicia knows that I will ask and is reading this thread the only real way to have you all participate and help is if we talk about all the options and that way no one will know which one I am really going to use till our fantastic trip report later this year.... which I think I will help with this time,

So What do people think of the Fireworks, and where would be the best place to see them from that would still be romantic and private/quiet enough to be heard if a certain question was then asked?

Tangentially what about World of Colour? (I haven't seen it)

And I will be here more often now... I promise

Just subbing to say you guys crack me up- and did you notice how the ads on this thread pop up with engagement ring ads-neato! I am angling for a replacement for my bent cheapo engagement ring (we also were just past being students, 21 and poor) for our 30th wedding anniversary this year but this is my husband we're talking about....and yes $ on a ring vs $ on a holiday-he knows I'll take the holday and run.

Carlo I have no helpful advice but think this is so sweet and romantic of you. I am not sure about during a show but immediately afterwards as the afterglow of the fireworks or grand finale fades and you are all warm and fuzzy inside...but then don't you say you start with the cruise...hmmm. Lots of romantic nights under the stars and the moon with the ocean glistening and dolphins or flying fish leaping past.....NB my only experience of a cruise is the liner we emigrated on as a 10 pound pom-but hey-it was like a cruise and I remember all of the above...

When we were watching the fireworks there was a guy proposing just in front of us -, he had organised the photopass photographer to be there, (I guess, unless the photographer was an opportunist:confused3).

I was so caught up in my own moment and trying to take the perfect fireworks photo, (new camera, no tripod, no idea really) that I didnt even see it :confused3, but DH did:thumbsup2
