When Will People Start Camping Out at WDW for SWGE Opening?

My boyfriend called the park this am and was told that they won't open the parking lot for cars until 5 am and that they can't comment on camping out or on if a car could park overnight but to follow the blogs.

So this means if you are planning on camping out on Thursday for the Friday opening you may want to have someone in charge of transportation if you have car/rental.

I personally plan on getting there at the beginning of Friday the 29th at 12:01 am

Hmm when did they tell you that? maybe they changed there mind or if he got a different phone person they may have different or not correct info. We go every weekend so when we go for our AP preview this Sunday we'll ask in person to see if they or GS or security has any updates

I think it's the CM's just don't know and are giving their best guess

It was about 2 weeks ago. Sadly we have a lower tier pass so we missed out on AP previews ):
I just think every cm has their own guess at the time lol. I'm very anxious about it because we are staying the night before so we can be there as early as we need to be.

Opening Day is Thursday the 29th.

I also find it hard to believe the parking lot will only open at 5 with a 6 am opening.

I do wish they would just announce details.

Son of a bee sting I can't read the calendar right in front of my face....Yeah I meant Thursday. And yeah I was like huh how is that gonna work? cause if they don't let people start streaming in to them its gonna be like Mad Max Fury Road in the parking lot

I've been told but a very credible person that the parking lot will open at midnight and they are aiming to open the park at 3am so people can line up inside the park and closer to the land

Good to know..I was planning a midright run anyhow but thought it was odd they were saying 5am when the park opens at 6

We were planning on showing up at 4 but probably have to change that.

I have no idea how this will go down but I've been imagining it as people lining up outside of security until around 4 then they let us wait at the ticket scanners until like 530 then they have us line up at grand ave

2. Allow the line to proceed to Indiana Jones as a holding area.
3. Then begin to form a line for entry to SWGE after night shift has completed their duties. Which will be about 5am.

This is information I received the end of last week from night shift security.
Yet again... everything is subject to change.
I know nothing about the parking situation.
My advice is take an Uber, cab, or walk there.
No boats and no buses will be available.
Also no tents will be allowed!

The Indiana Jones theatre maybe used as a holding area.
So as people lineup outside the park at midnight... at some point, if that line becomes unmanageable, they will bring people in to sit in the theater according to their line placement.
Where you will have access to bathrooms and snacks and drinks possibly.
Then after work is complete within the park, they will escort people to an actual queue area.

I sent an email to WDW support asking about parking because im that curious. Lol. Now we wait for a reply I managed to get their live chat to work but I have a 4 minute wait

We will have a good idea on what time the actual land is opening once we know schedules for opening cm on day one. Opening the attraction itself takes about an hour and a half
