Alright guys. I just had a chat with Hunter (He was very friendly) from Disney's help center and he said:

The parking lot normally opens 2 hours before the park does and he believes the parking lot will open at 4am on the 29th.
They have not discussed info on opening procedures but they should be escorting everybody in with CM's walking at a "normal pace".

I'm not sure if they are actually going to open the parking lot at 4 but we just have to wait and see I guess:coffee:

Unfortunately, and this has been said all around the boards, phone cm have very little credibility because of their actual lack of information. They are reading the regular procedures, this will not be a regular opening

You got that right... not normal at all! 😂

Very true

I’ve already seen it... but my coworker and I are going to do this opening thing for the experience. I just have to see for myself on how they’re going to do it. I can’t keep away...

Pretty sure the lots never close I have gotten to the parking lot of HS at 6:30-6:40 for a 9 am opening so we’ll before the 2 hours.

Ever since they moved the cm entrance through another road they have been able to close the guest parking lot

Was this with the new or old parking tolls? Since they built the new ones they have been using the old ones for employees, letting the main lot close.

Anyone want to guess what time the bus will start running opening day. I know most of the time it is 90 minutes before park open ( so if that is the case 4:30). If they do start the bus around 4:30 I will just do the bus if much latter something else

Interesting thread. Disney is pretty good at moving people along who are congregating in passways during parades etc. There's a liability issue when means of egress are blocked. I just don't see them allowing people to camp out near security earlier than park closing the previous day. I think that would block entrance and exit from the park, and make it possible for someone with disruption in their plans to cause a safety issue. At least, I don't think they would allow it that close to the park. I also don't see them allowing it to be a free for all getting into the land, considering that they still walk people at rope drop in areas that have been open for nearly 50 years. I'm not there at opening but I'll be watching the boards to see what the actual experience is. Good luck all!

I plan to get to DHS around 4am on the 29th. It's two hours earlier than what I did for TSL, but they said opening at 9 for TSL. I'm staying on property so I'll drive over. Do ya'll think this will be early enough? I have reservations for the Cantina in the afternoon, but only really care about riding MF and getting a R2D2 droid hair piece to match my outfit. Of course I want to visit the entire area, I'm just being realistic.

FYI from our AP preview on Sunday...We asked a GS member ( one of the ones with the plaid vests) at the check in about camping out and what any information she had and could give.and they are planning on opening the front area before park open and it has been told that while they aren't openly encouraging "campers" they aren't going to kick anyone out either, no info she could give on when parking would open. Our time in Batuu for the preview was 11-3pm and I highly recommend going early in the AM because there is little to no shade and its HOT but also extremely sunny. Sumuggler's Run is sooooo worth an hour wait. And major FYI for anyone that doesn't have a reservation at Ogas you DON'T have to have a reservation but they also do not allow a standby line to form and you are "required" to ask the cast members if they have room basically every time the line moves.
