walmart matching BF ads this friday?

FYI, DH went to Target (our Walmart was out of Infinity) and they would not price match. In fact, they took their 15 remaining starter packs and put them in the store room because they were getting "too many calls and too many people asking." :confused3

In typical Target fashion in my opinion.:sad2: I have never in my life seen more of a sketchy "price match" policy than the one they have at Target. I've seen managers flat out deny a price match there because they had "too many people cashing in on this deal". If that was me I would have stood there all day and argued it out with managers.

If you don't want to price match - THEN DON'T HAVE A PRICE MATCH POLICY! :headache:

I would be taking that up with corporate if I was told that was the reason.

I was under the impression that the item you wanted to PM must be in stock at the store where it is advertised. If your local WM doesn't have it, and it shows OOS online I don't think its covered under the PM policy.
Maybe someone that works at Target could clarify.

I am so furious with Walmart:furious: Nothing was on sale online this morning.
I wanted the Wii Infinity. When I called Walmart they said the sale was in store only. What! The press release says online and in stores, I got in to an argument with 3 different Walmart's, with them all saying the same thing. So of course by the time I get off the phone all stores are sold out of the Infinity's. In the meantime Target did have them on line for 37.00 too. But by the time I hear that after yelling with Walmart, Target is sold out. I just want to scream. I have a feeling Black Friday is not going to go so well either. I feel Walmart screwed up and lied to all of us.
This is from their press release:

Holiday shoppers don’t have to wait until Black Friday to start shopping for deals at Walmart. At 8 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, Walmart will kick off a pre-Black Friday savings event in stores and online, lowering the prices on popular toys and electronics, to match select Black Friday offers from Target, Toys R’ Us and Best Buy one week early.

Very interesting that I was first in line at my local store when they opened this morning. They did not have 1 of the sky landers pack in stock...not one. Manager said she was not even notified from corporate about the sale. She was freaking clueless. After waiting 25 minutes while they looked in the back I was furious. Fortunately Amazon came through. Don't know if I will ever go back to walmart.

I'm sorry you had problems but the stores can't really do anything about what is going on online. Did you call the customer service number for Walmart's website, they would have been the ones you should have "argued" with. I'd still try to call, if it was supposed to be on sale and the prices weren't showing then someone screwed up and Walmart should at least try to make it right for you. :goodvibes

All week (since the ad went up on their site) Walmart had 8 pages of items that were supposed to be on sale this morning. I was hoping to get an Xbox 360 bundle to match what Target or TRU had advertised for BF. Since Xbox bundles were listed on the Pre Black Friday sale pages, I believed there would be some kind of deal. 8 am came and went and the prices never changed.

My husband went to one store last night after people reported the sale starting early. He was told no, not until this morning.

He went to a different store this morning and there were no sales on 360s. He paid regular price. :headache:

I am super ticked about this debacle.

I did email them and posted on their Facebook page. I do not expect to hear back. Neither my husband or I harrassed any store employees.

So this just reaffirms why we avoid this store like the plague.

It doesn't sound like the pp went to any stores, she called 3 of them and yelled and argued (her words) with them because they told her it was in store only (at least that is what I got from her post). My point was only that calling the stores and yelling and arguing with them about what is supposed to be online isn't going to get her anywhere, the managers in the stores have nothing to do with Walmart's website. It may have been more productive for her to call the website customer service number.

I'm not sure what your dh bought but if you look at Walmart's website they have Xbox bundles on sale. I think those are the ones they are "matching" for BF.

I don't disagree with you, I was simply explaining that I can understand her frustration. This whole sale has been really frustrating.

Those bundles aren't on sale. They have been that price all week and are not any cheaper then what everyone else sells them for. They are not matching anything other than their own everyday price. :sad2:

Oh, sorry I wasn't looking for an Xbox this year so I thought those prices were the BF prices. Keep checking Amazon's upcoming deals I think you can see them up to 24 hours. Maybe they'll have that bundle and your dh can return the one he got at Walmart :goodvibes

I usually avoid Walmart like the plague but I do shop there occasionally. Yesterday when I went to pick some stuff up I went to see how many of the Skylander's were on the shelf and there were only about 6 and no Xbox ones so I knew there was no point in going there this morning. I saw last night that it was available online for $37 but I think it sold out pretty quick. I totally agree, its a huge mess, and frustrating and confusing for customers.
I would still totally call the website CS and see what they can do if something was supposed to be online at a certain price but never was.

I wanted the Disney Infinity. I read that the online stock sold out in 15 minutes or so after 8am. I saw online that my store had the items in stock around 9:30 or so (I forgot to get online at 8am). Honestly, I did not really believe it, but I went over there around 10 and they had all of them(Wii, X-Box, PS3) in stock and sitting there for $37. They also had a full display of Skylanders Swapforce. I bought both so I can save one for a February birthday. Check around if you have a lot of Wal-marts.

The weather is really bad today in my area, so maybe that's why I got lucky.

Target.com had them for the same price ($37) so I'm not sure why they would pull them off the shelf.

I'm not really sure exactly when, but walmart.com DID have these items on sale online. They are still showing the sale prices. Perhaps they were using a different time zone?

I had the same experience. I went to my local store around 8:45. They had plenty of Disney & Skylanders in stock. I couldn't find the one for the regular Wii so I asked a clerk and he showed me 2 other displays they had of them so there were a lot of all types in the store. They seemed to have plenty of Leapads too. The only thing they were out of was the Headbanz game for 5 bucks. I was able to get a couple other games for $5 each which will be great as filler from Santa.

I might be the exception but I really like my local Walmart. The people that work there are really helpful & nice. Some of the customers on the other hand......I saw one woman completely chew out a cashier because her sweatpants were not folded nicely enough. Really??

Well, I went to Target and they gave me the Disney Infinity for $37, no problem! I didn't even have to show her anything because that's their price on their website. I Love Target!! :cool1: Walmart, not so much. Though I must say the Walmart salesperson was VERY nice and helpful this morning. Very unusual for that store. Would it be inappriate to write a letter both praising an employee and complaining about the store? LOL

You had better luck than me. They read me their policy right out of their manual, that says if the item is not available online (or in a brick and mortar) then it doesn't qualify for price match.

I wonder if they mis-read that? I can understand not price matching another store if they are out, but their own website? I'm sorry you weren't able to get it. :( Get ready for Amazon in a hour!

Yep, that's what happened to DH also. And to those above, yes Walmart did have them for the price online but were already out of stock online when the sale started. I don't have a problem with Walmart running out (that happens), but I DO have a problem with them advertising a sale to start at 8AM and then then starting the sale the day before, which resulted in them being sold out!

They pulled them off the shelf because they said they won't price match their own website and they were tired of people asking. That's pretty ridiculous if you ask me!

Nope, both the customer service member, and the manager read it word for word out loud to me, and that is exactly what it said.

six minutes until disney infinity goes on sale on amazon. good luck to everyone!
