Is This a Sign Of Things To Come?

I am having a hard time figuring out if this is good business or just plain greedy.

If it comes down to either standing in line for hours with the masses or paying extra for the privilege of waiting 10 minutes, I think we will be out of this game. And that makes me mad. And sad.

Next thing you know they will be selling VIP super FPs.... Oh, wait....

Wondering if they will add a morning package like this to Epcot when Frozen officially opens or when Star Wars opens at DHS. I can imagine that eventually people will be waiting at the phone to call and book this. I bet Disney is regreting putting as much info about the new activities at AK so soon because they could have definitely monopolized on that. Maybe there is something in the making and that is why we are not hearing any additional info. Time will tell if this is just the start of what will be Disney's future
Rumors are yes, they plan to.

May be a little of both. But let's face Disney would not do it if there was not a market for it. I am sure Disney's marketing team is working overtime to come up with ways to make up for it's overall loses of the new park. There will always be that carrot that people will go for no matter what the price and that will be different for each person. Whether it be a dessert party, a VIP experience ext. EVERYONE has SOMETHING they will pay big bucks to do or see and if Disney can profit from it you betcha it will be done. I admit I was angry at first because it is interfering in my plans but I was one that spent extra money for the Wishes desert party when they took away the FP. I did not like it but I was willing to spend extra money so my family would be comfortable. My biggest problem is Disney's cutbacks are making it more stressful the CM's who work all kinds of goofy hours and still have to have a second job. That stress carries on to the severvice provided which in turn makes it miserable for the consumer who already thinks they are getting less and spending more. It becomes a vicious circle. I do not know what the answer is but we all have choices. Sometimes thoses choices are hard but it utimately comes down to what WE want to spend our money on and if WE want to continue going to Disney. There are always people that will spend the money on what ever Disney throws at us so can we truly blame Disney........

I can only imagine what it would be and how much it would cost. I know there is possible dinning packages but I would not be surprised if it will be more. Pretty obvious to me the morning and after hours will continue at each park but I doubt Disney will stop there.

This really has my mind churning out the possible possibilities.

Think if you bought early entry to Epcot for Frozen then took your park hopper ticket over to MK for the extended night hours. Leaves all day to go and do whatever you want. FPs could be booked for anything anywhere. I'm thinking we could get all of our faves done in one day. I would pack food so we could eat while walking to and from. Be done with the mouse and then stay deluxe at Uni for a nice relaxing vacation by the pool and not waiting in lines with our express passes.

Maybe uber over to the poly for dinner and fireworks?

Just like WDW is not the same WDW, we will not be the same guests as we were before.

If staying on site and taking advantage of rope drop, etc. is no longer worth it then I simply won't do it.

This is only partially true. Disney test-markets things all the time to see if there is a market out there. Think: Epcot After Hours Wind Down. They tried to create a market for it, and they failed. The same thing might happen here. I seriously doubt that any research revealed that $149 was exactly the right price for the MK After Hours event and that $69 was exactly the right price for the Morning Magic. They tossed those numbers out there to see if there will be a market that develops. Which is a subtle difference from there already being a market for it. There is "addressing a market that already exists" and there is "creating a market where none currently exists." I think this is the latter, and it remains to be seen if it will work. At $39 for the morning event and $79 for the evening event, I'll be we wouldn't even be having these discussions. But at the current pricing, it looks like an iffy proposition if public reaction is any indicator.

I've thought this as well. I feel like Disney is conditioning us for these changes now so that they seem "normal" when they expand the changes in the future.

The problem of course would be the fact that you would be spending double the money if not more to do this

Go ahead and add up the cost of everything you just did that day. Your 6 day park hopper costs you $75 per day. Your early morning at Frozen costs you $39. Your late night at the MK costs you $149. Your Uber cost you $20. And you the only food you have had is a Norwegian waffle at Epcot and some ice cream and soda at the MK. And all for around $300 for a single day, not including lodging. You are right. We will not be the same guests we were before. We will be much, much poorer.

If it's even a possibility, but if you could condense 3 days into 1... I would definitely price out the options. Honestly this add on and up charge business really diminishes the magic for me.

At this point why would they not have special early/late access events for SWL and Toy Story?

It's not unreasonable that those events, especially SWL will come with at least a $200 price tag.

After all, Disney in all their glorious arrogance, charges north of $100 for a single day admission to present day DHS.

Yes, you will be out quite a bit of money for one day. But I can't help but think how frustrating it will be as a guest if nothing but crowds and lines are in store for you if you do not upgrade your ticket. So for me, I would rather maximize one day and have a really, really great day. It is still cheaper than a VIP tour. Anyhow, I'm only speculating.

I've only read about the Early Magic at Epcot. No DAH.....yet.

There is another alternative which Disney has to start thinking about. And that is that rather than having the frustration cause you to upgrade your ticket, the frustration will cause you to go somewhere else for vacation.
