Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House Closed for Initial Walt Disney World Resort Reopening

I just got off the phone with MS because I have a value studio at Jambo for 7/20-7/21. They told me that I will receive a call likely next week once the resorts open and I’ll be moved to Kidani for no additional point or money charge even though there are no value accommodations at Kidani. I was relieved to hear that, as I literally don’t have enough points remaining to make that switch, and needed OTU to get 2 value studios at Jambo.

What? I just got off with MS because we have a villa at Jambo for 7/25-7/31 and she thought we would be OK to stay there, at least with what she knows for now, but subject to change. Sigh.

Haha, looks like a "wait and see" situation. For me, it's not really a big deal as long as I don't have to use more points, I'm only there that one night to connect my flight on 7/20 to my BCV reservation starting 7/21. I can see why this would be maddening for people who are staying at AKL for a longer duration with questions of amenities and whatnot.

I have a reservation for next week at Jambo through rented points.... just waiting to hear.
We rented points for our stay next week at Jambo (as we're out of points). Wonder if they'll contact us directly (linked in MDE) or the member who rented for us? That's my biggest concern.

It is maddening! We are at Jambo for a week, and the similar room at Kidani won't work for us. I asked about open restaurants -- only know what is already on the website. Asked about dining reservation priority for resort guests -- didn't know. Asked for more details, she gave me a link that took me to Disneyland rather than Disney World. Asked about grocery delivery -- only knew that it wasn't available with Bell Services to start, not sure when it would come back. She really didn't know anything more than was on the website, and she asked that I keep looking at that. I told her it is tedious, because they don't flag what is new.

exact same situation for me too! I used up my 2020 UY points for trips in December and May. Once I saw that DVC resorts were opening up, I knew I needed to get away for a couple of nights for a change in scenery and decided to rent points. I've been stalking DME to see if there are any changes. If I don't see any changes by this afternoon, i'm going to reach out to the rental company to see what I should do.

Exactly! I just realized there is absolutely no quick service at kadani so they need to figure it out asap because I refuse to be moved to kadani or saratoga. I have called a bunch of times and even sent Emails the CM are telling me if in fact I have the reservation it will be open but we all know how that goes. The CM are more likely saying whatever they wish to just get us off the phones

I have read they are expanding food options at Kidani. I would expect to be moved to Kidani as that is what today’s announcement says.

If that isn’t what you want, you may want to try and change on your own.

Maji is one of the better food options on property already. Food is legitimately good even if options are limited.

When they announced resort openings, Jambo was never there. I think the confusion happened is when it all came back for booking, people assumed it meant it would open And booked.

I think DVC dropped the ball waiting until today to confirm that the change to room bookings did not mean it was now open.

That should have come out first...and those at Jambo should be contacted. I have a feeling people Will now show up and be taken to Kidani instead.

DVC will only contact the member. When Values got taken out of inventory DVC contacted me (the Member) about moving the room to Kidani.

Ugh! We are at BCV but with no SAB, were considering moving to Jambo, but see it probably wont be open for our dates? (I wish they would give some additional resort re-open dates). I guess we could choose Kidani, but with no Jambo amenities and even possibly added Jambo guests using Kidani amenities, don't think I want to do this either :(

I just got through to MS to add a room request and change Magical Express. 25 minute wait.

Any questions I had, she just read from the website and gave me her interpretation. She told me that I could get groceries delivered to my room because it says "Deliveries will only be made to occupied rooms " -- so I can get groceries delivered as long as I am there. Wonder if I can hold her to that :)

On hold for almost 2 hours to get switched from Jambo to somewhere not AK-K, OK, or SSR. MS keeps telling me that Jambo will be open. That's not what the webiste says.

That is for the "Initial Reopening Period" which we know is at least from June 22 to July 4 (or 10). We don't know if it goes beyond that. I check in July 25 and I was told I could probably stay at Jambo. It really depends on whether they have more bookings than Kidani alone can handle. But be prepared that restaurants and merch at Jambo may not be open.

What is your checkin date?

DVC is playing this week by week just like non-DVC resorts. We had a Jambo club level stay for next week booked. I sent an email expressing our concern about what is going on with Jambo . We have been receiving consistently conflicting information from MS, on the phone and in chat for the past week. They had someone call this afternoon to move us to another resort at the expense of whatever points the difference was. No upgrades like cash resort guests that are keeping their dates have gotten. The resorts are fully available for our dates so any upgrade would not affect another member and would go along way with how they have handled things for Jambo reopening. Not to mention paying magic season points.

I'm a little salty lol
Don't get me wrong, we are happy to have disney and dvc reopening but would probably prefer they open later if they don't have all their ducks in row yet. They seem to be making problems for themselves with all the wrong information about Jambo out there.

Our stay begins July 10.

I'm just frustrated with the ping pong ball of closed/open with no clear answer. When you have a lot of money invested in the trip it's frustrating to not have answers.

I completely understand. I am half expecting to show up at the ME check-in next week and be like ok where am I going? I really don't care where I am relocated to. It's just me. My only agenda is to lay by a pool with cold cocktails.

2.5 hours on the phone for them to not move me. To say that Jambo will be open. Out of principle I refuse to spend more points to be moved to a resort that they can guarantee will be open and have a full QS option, not pool bar food. Don't care for Sanaa at Kidani. They refused to move to me one without paying more since they say it will be open. Ugh! What makes it more frustrating is when you read about cash ressies being moved to DVC and not having to pay for the upgrade.

<Sorry to vent, but 2.5 hours on hold with them unable to guarantee that AKJ would be open has left me fumming.>
