I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

Considering applying for the 5 FNC Chase Marriott offer. I looked up the eligibility chart to make sure I can get it. Only cards I’ve had are both Amex, the Brilliant (opened 3/2021 bonus 6/2021, closed 5/2023) and the biz (opened 2019 and still open currently). Chart says I’m good but I wanted to double check with you all. I can still hold on to that business card correct?
I was reading the DOC post and comments. According to the terms that were posted there, you should be good. The SUB on the Brilliant and the Biz needs to be more than 24 months ago.

Sorry didn't finish my ☕ yet yes for Schwab id imagine all platinum TBH
Not really a surprise...I think Amex is trying to crack down. I'm thinking in the next year or two spending down my Amex points and closing everything except my gold (it's my oldest card). Maybe I'll wait for a few years and see how long a "lifetime" really is. Lol.

gold is my goto groceries/restaurant card. I've figured out too if the place has craft beer or is considered a "bar" I drop CSR but besides that amex gives me 4x most of the time.

so the 5 people on reddit who signed up for CS Platinum all didn't get the bonus, I feel this is the norm.

Can you please explain a bit more. Did they get the pop-up? Or did they get the card, meet the MSR, then not get the SUB (with no pop up)?

My parents were supposed to head to Northern Michigan tomorrow for ten days. Everything was booked on my dad's Platinum card I believe. My dad was just taken to the hospital by ambulance. I'm trying to distract myself and be practical while I wait to find out what's going on--it looks like there's some trip insurance on the Platinum card but wondering if anyone has any experience using it.
Good thoughts and prayers for your dad.

Our oldest DD (now 26) had petit mal seizures - now called absence seizures I believe. I'm not sure if that's the same thing you're dealing with or not. Our was years ago, she was in 2nd grade, so 7-8 years old. When she got put on medication (at the time they used depakote), her symptoms went away. She outgrew it in about a year and a half so we were able to wean her off the meds.
Thank you so much for this! His was also a partial/focal seizure and we are waiting on the doc visit tomorrow to get the official dx.

I had this a small child as well. Was on Tegretol for a couple years, then it went away about fifth or sixth grade. No issues since. Have a friend that had childhood epilepsy, very occasional issues as an adult, mainly from video games.

Thank you so much for sharing! All of this in the weeks before his first day of Kindergarten has been a lot to process.

Trip related- was thinking when we do a cruise from CA next year we may fly to San Diego ahead of time and then do the pacific surfliner up to the LA area. Anyone done that train trip? It looks neat!

Instant approval for a CIP $6k credit limit. I also was instantly approved 56 days ago for a CIU $6k limit. Wanted to share as I know the recommended velocity with Chase is 1/90 days, but these past 2 approvals, although close together have been my only Chase cards in over 2 years. I was over 5/24 for that long. So being that I hadn’t had any applications in that long I felt reasonably comfortable doing 2 close together. I made sure my overall available credit was under 50% and had already paid down most of the balance on my most recent CIU. I will now cool it with Chase applications for about 6 months.

Good luck getting it all figured out. It is scary to deal with.

As far as the train - we did a trip from Denver to San Francisco last year over Labor Day weekend and loved it. I'd love to do the California trip someday. From San Diego to LA would be a good one I'd think!

Yes you always have to call to book those. Always call in to change any reservation dealing with them too. The people who do it have always been really nice to us!
Thank you. It gives me the last 4 digits of the certificate, is that what I tell them?

Is 3 Free Nights a good reward rather than getting the points?
