An Actor that was perectly cast

My sister vehemently disagrees. šŸ˜„ She loves the books and is not a fan of this Jamie. She also hates how they cast Brianna. Claire was pretty well cast, though.
You can't have Catriona Balfe as Claire without Sam Heughan as Jaime. Their chemistry is off the charts. Outlander writer, Diana Gabaldon, has said time and again there could never have been any other Jaime or Claire. She hand-picked them. So I guess if they are good enough for the creator of the stories, then they are good with me.

Brianna I'm kind of indifferent about. Her american accent is a bit wonky.

We stopped watching in season 3? I think? For my sister it was because it just didn't live up to the books, for me I just didn't care enough. I also never got through the 5th book because I was bored with it.

Gary Oldman - The 5th Element

and Milla Jovovich

I dunno. I though he was over the top and really overacting in the 5th Element. Same for Chris Tucker. But I remember a French expat coworker telling me that he and a buddy were laughing their butts off at some of the comedy, while the rest of the theater didn't get it.

Now Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon was masterful.

Not sure about JK Simmons though.

I donā€™t know. I thought Oldman played ā€œweaselā€ well and canā€™t imagine anyone else in the role at the moment.

Unfortunately, I just found an ugly 2014 interview that makes me see him in a different light.

Edit. I remember seeing Simmons as Gordon and thinking ā€œhuh. Okā€ maybe because Iā€™m use to him being JJ Jameson but heā€™s not that bad of a choice. Makes you pause, though.

and Julie Andrews in Mary Poppins...
Pretty much Julie Andrews in anything she decides to do. pixiedust:

...... āš¾āš¾āš¾āš¾āš¾ here is something comming at you from left field...

Felix resolves to save both the film and his reputation. With great difficulty he persuades the studio and his wife Sally Miles (Julie Andrews), an Oscar-winning movie star with a squeaky-clean image, to allow him to revise the film into a soft-core pornographic musical in which she must appear topless. He liquidates most of his wealth to buy the existing footage and to finance further production. If he fails, both he and Sally will be impoverished, at least by Hollywood standards.

Anthony Perkins--Psycho
interesting....not sure if he was perfectly cast
Psycho[edit]
Perkins in youth had a boyish, earnest quality, reminiscent of the young James Stewart, which Alfred Hitchcock exploited and subverted when the actor starred as Norman Bates in the film Psycho (1960).[8] The film was a critical and commercial success, and gained Perkins international fame for his performance as the homicidal owner of the Bates Motel. Perkins's performance gained him the Best Actor Award from the International Board of Motion Picture Reviewers. The role and its multiple sequels affected the remainder of his career.[9]

Perkins was an on his way to become a popular star in Hollywood....though no superstardom in the wings for Pancho star George Reeves

Perkins and Berenson remained married until his death. In 2001, on the day before the ninth anniversary of his death, Perkins's widow died at age 53 in the September 11 attacks aboard American Airlines Flight 11. She was returning to her California home following a vacation on Cape Cod.[29]

Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly in 'Back to the Future'.
Michael J. Fox was the first choice to portray Marty McFly. Gale and Zemeckis believed his acting timing in the sitcom Family Ties (1982ā€“1989) as the sophisticated Alex P. Keaton could be translated to Marty's clumsiness.[33][10] Spielberg asked the show's producer Gary David Goldberg to have Fox read the script. Concerned Fox's absence would damage Family Ties' successā€”especially with fellow star Meredith Baxter absent for maternity leaveā€”Goldberg did not give Fox the script.[34] Other young stars were considered including: John Cusack, C. Thomas Howell, Johnny Depp, Ralph Macchio, Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer, Ben Stiller, Peter DeLuise, Billy Zane, George Newbern, Robert Downey Jr., Christopher Collet and Corey Hart (who declined to audition).[32][35][36][37][6][23][15] Howell was the frontrunner,[36] but Sheinberg wanted Eric Stoltz, who had impressed with his portrayal of Rocky Dennis in an early screening of the drama film Mask (1985).[38][37] With the filming date approaching, Zemeckis opted to go with Stoltz.[38] Sheinberg promised that if Stoltz did not work out they could reshoot the film.[9] The character's name was derived from Used Cars production assistant Marty Casella. Zemeckis suggested McFly because it sounded "All-American".[8]

Oldman has range - that's for sure. However, I always thought that he did crotchety old man pretty well, even when he was younger.

The first time I ever heard of JK Simmons was when he was on the 1992 Broadway cast of Guys & Dolls. I really thought of him as Benny Southstreet more than anything else. I guess his most recent work was in The Tomorrow War.
