DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Hope everyone is doing well:goodvibes. Had a great time at WDW, met up with Doc & Randall:thumbsup2.

There was something missing, for the 99.999% of visitors that did not notice, I did, what was missing:confused3 Apple Turnovers (the last hold out was at the bakery by the safari in AK:scratchin now it is a denied delightful all-American delicious flakey pastry. If anything they should sell it at Gaston's next to the once extinct Cinnamon Roll:thumbsup2

Most will probably say my complaint is null & void:poop: but next time it could be The Dole Whip or The Turkey Leg, or maybe making regular pretzels instead of Mickey ones:confused3:eek::scared1:

Welcome! Always good to have more Canadians. What part of Canada are you from?

Welcome.
We are at our quota of Canadians at the moment but if we lose one we will be sure to let you know. LOL

Norm when you come around to collect his dues make sure you do the conversion so he doesn't pay us in Canadian.

Right boyz. I’m blowin this popsicle stand. Cases are packed, and there’s more tech in the kids bags than a Radio Shack on Black Friday. All things going well, we will be in a Treehouse villa in Saratoga in about 28 hrs.
Have a great couple of weeks chaps.

We've considered a treehouse and talked ourselves out of it with the SSR transportation buses to parks only. Let us know how it goes.

I did the Dads proud. I’m not the most mechanically inclined Dad, but installed the new garbage disposal tonight with no leaks. Then just to top it off, I got an ink stain out of my son’s white shirt he wore to school today after my wife said it was probably ruined.

My wife gave me serious side eye, like “what have you done with my husband.”

Good job. However, you now have set the expectation for yourself too high. If I ever get around to fixing something, it's been broken for a least a year.

Yeah I think they’re planning on doing some fund raising. That brings a whole set of headaches but I’d rather that than pay for everything out of pocket.

Depends of the fundraising item, amount, or what is expected? If I have to stand outside walmart selling something, then I'm writing a check. And yes, I still write checks. Get off my lawn.

Happy Senior's Day to any of you that fit this category. Remember to follow some simple rules and your day will be a good one:
  1. Your signal light does not need to be on for the duration of your drive. and
  2. If you decide to celebrate Hump Day as well, take all the necessary precautions.

Have a good one all.

Nitroglycerin or viagra? Either way, you're taking a pill.

Glad you had a great trip. Sadly, I've gotten used to Disney lowering quality while increasing prices.

Welcome. Dues are payable in dole whips, bacon, beer, or bourbon. You mail 820+ portions to me and I send to all the guys. Don't worry, this plan is foolproof.

Welcome.

Don't scare the Canadians away with American math. Without them, there are only four if us remaining on this thread. :lmao:

Good point. They haven’t done any stand outside Walmart stuff. I wouldn’t want to do that either. There’s been lots of selling things but it’s to family, friends, coworkers and on your own time at your own pace. Still a PITA but I can live with it.

Welcome! The Canadian invasion continues!

Radio Shack on Black Friday.
Do y'all still have those in GB? They've closed here.

No love for pea soup? I suspect you’ve never had yellow pea soup made with salt beef.
Pea soup is okay, not fantastic to me.
Nope, never had yellow pea soup with salt beef...never knew even heard of it.

Yeah I think they’re planning on doing some fund raising. That brings a whole set of headaches but I’d rather that than pay for everything out of pocket.
Considering all the time for all the fund raising, it was worse in my mind. Maybe it's just me, but I thought someone should look at why it's so insanely expensive vs coming up with yet another fund raiser.

I'm not there yet.

If you decide to celebrate Hump Day as well, take all the necessary precautions.
It's been so long...what exactly are the precautions?

We are at day 30 of our triple-digit heat days. But there is a cold front next week. Still going to be near 100° but the humidity is supposed to drop to 60%. Woohoo
There have been several places hotter than FL this year. My wife still thinks it's too hot here, but it was just as hot and sometimes hotter in ATL.

Someone must have recently went to Monsters Inc. laugh floor.

:welcome: Good to have you aboard. I've met most of the Canadians on the list, so you're in good company there. We live here in Orlando, so if you'd like to meet up in November, give me a shout. Hopefully meeting up with Dan next week. Was going to be this weekend maybe, but plans changed (for me).

Bite your tongue, mister!!
REALLY REALLY HARD!
Ron mentioned this to me one of the times we met up and it's kinda sad. For me personally, I'm not a big apple turnover person, so maybe I was part of the problem...they probably got rid of them since they weren't selling enough.

We've considered a treehouse and talked ourselves out of it with the SSR transportation buses to parks only. Let us know how it goes.
As I told Dan, the treehouses are great. Nice, quiet and roomy. We either caught the boat (or walked) to SSR proper and caught the bus from there or just took the boat to DTD and caught the bus there. It was a touch slower than staying on the main SSR, but not too bad.

Depends of the fundraising item, amount, or what is expected? If I have to stand outside walmart selling something, then I'm writing a check. And yes, I still write checks. Get off my lawn.
I disliked the fund raising in general...$40 for a cheesecake that's so inferior to my own...not interested. Cookie dough for $20 a bucket that makes a couple dozen cookies...nope. Candles...wife can't handle most of the smells. What ever happened to just selling chocolate bars for $1 each. Even if they were $2 each, it was something people could be okay with the cost and could/would actually use.
I still write checks.
Get off Norm's lawn.
And mine too!

Okay fine I'll make it up to him. I will bring maple bacon and Canadian mist next time it's my turn to stock the cabinet.
Okay, maple bacon, you're doing good so far.
Canadian mist??? Dude...you were doing so good. At least you could have went with Canadian Club!!!

Morning, gents.
Starting to cool off already around here. <sigh>
Temperature right now is 5C/41F. (I believe the "F" part of that statement is the most accurate part.)
It's wayyyyy too early for this noise.
Wow...that's a QUICK turnaround. Good thing you're coming here next month.
