A Dining Pre-Trip Report? Sure! LIVE report now completed!

MMM everything looks great! I don't see the big hype over Le Cellier really... its an odd choice of food for Canadian food Im from canada an we dont do alot of stuff with mushrooms or cream cheese potatoes! The big canadian staple here is poutine and beaver tails ... but then again everyone goes there so it must be pretty good! I think the Macademia pancakes look great!

How come they don't offer poutine in the Canadian Pavilion?

I am love love loving your live report! I don't want them to end- do you think you could stay at WDW until the 20th or so of August, then I can just keep indulging myself until our trip??!! :thumbsup2

Mmm, I'm really loving this report! My mouth is watering for that mushroom fillet, and it's only 10 am.

Looks like you've had some great meals! I'm loving your report. So glad to hear you liked Tutto... I'm eating there in October and have been debating a bit. I think its place on the list has been solidified between your report and another I read recently. Spoodles -- I haven't been but am now thinking about how I can fit it in. And thanks for sharing that you can substitute the cream cheese mashed potatoes at Le Cellier... I've been hoping that was the case!

Ahhh!!! Food porn!!! :worship:
Why do I always read dining reviews when I'm hungery? Great pictures by the way. Makes me wish I was there right now! Just a little over a month to go. We were thinking about trying Kona for breakfast. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and that Big Kahuna platter looks like heaven on a plate!

I had so much to catch up on here.....just wanted to say that you're doing a great job entertaining us all at home. I recommend you stay at least another month.;)

I think it's popular because people think it's a great deal on the DDP. There are better deals out there, but the food is good. I think they are in need of a little humilty though...

Great updates!!I lovrd The Tea pix! Being from England they bring back such fond memories of Mum's homemade scones and jam tarts !!I loved cheese and cucumber sandwiches and egg and 'cress sammies !! Glad to see you can get potatoes at Le Cellier with the filet . Rissoto wasn't appealing !!

Totally agree with you!!

Cocoa. Got any good suggestions? We thought about going over to Clearwater, but the shorter drive wins out.

Yum on LC and Kona, we have both booked. Did you hear on the podcast yesterday (duh, probably not :) )that Disney's thinking of removing ALL the filets from the menus b/c they're losing money from them on the dining plan? I hope it's not true.

DH loves NASA in Cocoa, but for beach we usually go to Daytona. Don't know why...:confused3 I hope the filet doesn't happen?

How come they don't offer poutine in the Canadian Pavilion?

What's poutine?

I would LOVE to!

This is such a cool idea! Loving all your posts!

DH loves it - has it every trip. I asked him what his favorite thing on it was and he said "everything!"

I'm in! Great review and I just booked Tutto Italia after seeing your pictures

You will love it!!!

DS keeps asking if we can book "just one more night" :rotfl:

Went to DAK today and got a few snacks after FOTLK - a gatorade (yuck) and an ice cream sandwich:

DH and DS love these! :thumbsup2

We had to stop here for lunch because it is DH's hands down favorite. We were able to get three CS meals and ended up with an extra dessert. I didn't notice it until DH and DS had already started eating, but it wasn't charged.

DH and I each got the beef brisket sandwich and beans:

DH liked this very much, mine was eh. I ate most and gave the rest to DH. The beans were way too sweet, but I don't like baked beans, so my opinion doesn't mean much ;)

We all shared the fruit plate - which was not the greatest quality but still pretty good:

For drinks, we had two bottles of water and a large coke:

Desserts were key lime pie and frozen lemonade:

The key lime pie was so good! Very tart and fresh and creamy. I enjoyed it, but DH preferred the pie from Sunshine Seasons.

All in all, too much food and a good lunch!

Tonight we all went to Boma - I was excited to see what my family thought:

Dad: not a fan. Didn't recognize much until he got to the desserts. Still ate enough and liked it, just wouldn't go back.

DSM: liked it a lot - but this is up her alley. I knew she'd like it!

DSIL: seemed to think it was okay - enjoyed her dinner.

DNee: loved the chicken nuggets and cookies. A picky eater, happy with choices.

DNep: probably has a stomach ache as I type this - had 5 servings of prime rib and lots of other interesting things

DH: prime rib, kids' foods, didn't go hungry but didn't get excited about anything.

DB: enjoyed it WAY more than I thought he would - tried 4/5 of the soups and liked all of them

DS: had mac and cheese and about 7 pieces of watermelon (I am not exaggerating). Happy with dinner.

Me: same as before - still loving Boma!

DDd and DSM each had a bloody mary - and both enjoyed them a lot:

July2508106.jpg

DSIL: STELLAAAAAA!!!!!!!! (don't think DSIL has seen Streetcar Named Desire, btw...she didn't get this....:rotfl: )

July2508105.jpg

DB: Captain Morgan mai tai?

July2508104.jpg

Me: Champagne Mojito:

July2508103.jpg

This was okay - the champagne was instead of the soda water so it was boozier than I like. And twice as expensive. But I still love the lime and mint combo!

All three kids got the pirate punch. The blinky toy is cool and the straws are really cool (one color when cold, one when not) but not worth $6.49. For a non alcoholic drink!?!?!?

Sheesh!

Another good day in WDW, albeit a HUMID and HOT one!!! Hope everyone is having a great Friday night!

You're making me want Key Lime Pie for breakfast this morning!

I tried my first (sip of) mojito last weekend-gack! :scared: Too much like Colgate! :rotfl: Champagne sounds like it might counteract some of that.

Wow - I just stumbled on your reviews and have been having a blast reading them all this AM.

I wasn't happy with my ADR @ MM and afer your review of Spoodles (and all the yummy food @ Boardwalk in general), I called and made the switch. I'm sooooo looking forward to trying it!

Woohoo, the first Flame Tree appearance! That's exactly what I'll be having for my first (and last) meal in September!

I enjoyed the pictures of Boma. I have been considering adding this to our dining plans but I am afraid others in our party will not enjoy this as much as I will. We'll see.

Thanks again for the fantastic update. :thumbsup2

We've spent a lot of time at the BW this trip - more than we have ever before when not staying there...we've liked it a LOT!

DH's fave! DDd and DSM spent the day at DAK today and ate there too - DDd had the chicken and DSM had the ribs. She loved them, but said they were too big! DH is still amazed that it took this long to go there!

Thank YOU! You are probably right about Boma - it is definitely a love it or not place.
