Shockingly awful snacks

A dessert from Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Thank you so much for the picture and your explanation. I was wondering also and was about to Google it (after I read everyone's comments).

Next month is our first ever trip to Disney and this thread has been SUPER helpful. Believe it or not, my husband and I were planning on getting a turkey leg, a Dole Whip, AND a margarita in Mexico. I would have wasted so much money and been disappointed.

Thank you DIS and DIS-ers!:worship:

I agree, those aren't good at all. You have to go inside to La Cava del Tequila to get a fantastic margarita! :thumbsup2

Ahhh! That makes sense, I wondered why my friends kept raving about how good they were. I guess I went to the wrong spot. Thanks for the tip :)

We tried the school bread on recommendation but didn't like it.
Our noses led us to the Turkey legs but our taste buds didn't agree!

I would not let this thread sway you from trying things that you were interested in. This thread alone highlights how different people's tastes can vary and what one person doesn't like, another person will. I personally really like Dole Whips, Turkey Legs, and Zebra Domes and have them on every trip to WDW.

As for dislikes...well mine would be the gingerbread shingle during the holiday season at GF.

I wouldn't say that it was horrifically bad, but the cupcake with the pink icing that I bought from Goofy's Candy Co on our checkout day... We're not from the US, and so we always drool over these when we see them, and it did not taste as delicious as it looked.

I am not a fan of any of the cupcakes in Disney. They are all too sweet for me but my kids enjoy them. The cake pops were definitely the most awful snack we tried. We got 2 different kinds and they both ended up in the garbage.

The decorated cookies you can buy in almost all of the shops. They're super cute, but bleh!

I can't say that anything I have tried was awful. But I know I would not like either dole whips or citrus swirls. I can't even bring myself to try them.

Maybe it's just me, but I absolutely can't stand mixing dairy products like ice cream with tangy fruits like orange or pineapple. It freaks me out, really. Clear acidic things should stay with clear acidic things. And creamy cloudy things should stay with creamy things.

Am I the only one?

I thought that until I tried one, seriously. I really DO like the Dole Whips - DD & I got one to split because we're big pineapple fans & had heard so much about them. We were fighting over licking the bowl. She's 9, but I was still ruthless. ;) If the line hadn't been longer that the wait for Peter Pan, lol, we would've just ordered another.

There's also a slushie/ice cream combo thing in America's Liberty Tavern (I think?) in Epcot & it sounded so wrong, but oh my was *I* wrong about that!! It was delicious & the perfect balance of sweet/cold/refreshing without being heavy or too sweet. Especially on these hot, humid summer days. YUM!

I know many will disagree but I could not stand the Turkey Legs!

They smell gorgeous but once you eat them it's a different story!

:goodvibes

Completely agree!

I tried one for the first time on my last trip. It was novel and tasty for maybe 5 minutes or so... but after that, not so much. I've never eaten anything that made me so sluggish! Never again! :lmao:

Least favorite Disney snack is definitely the Mickey rice Krispy. I don't know if I've always gotten stale ones or what but across the board on Disney Cruises, years of being a DLR passholder, and even a couple of excursions to WDW...Never had a good one. I hate that they're always a part of Castaway Club welcome packages and stuff. Love 99% of Disney food but they can do sooo much better.

I love rice krispy treats but hate the ones at WDW bc they are hard as a rock.

A caramel apple from the big top. The caramel just tasted bleh. I ate it because I paid for it but by the time I was done I felt terrible.

(( putting up shields lol ))) I do not like Dole WHips... there I said it. They are just too sweet for me. I love pineapple juice, and I love vanilla soft serve, but I just do not like them together.

I could not have put it better myself. I actually have not tried one, but it does not sound appetizing to me at all, even though I like both things separate.y.

I've never encountered a nasty Disney snack... Maybe I'm just lucky ;) The Dole whip is heaven in a cup, and the stuff I always get from Goofy's Candy Company is to die for!

It's better with the pineapple soft serve.

Other than that, I stick to my mickey bars, funnel cake(s) and dole whips. lol.

Same here! I always plan to try new things but always stick with what we know we love! I dream about dole whip floats:rotfl: And those turkey legs look like salmonella on a stick, will never ever eat one of those!

Dole Whips...I think they taste like a chemical version of what frozen pineapple slush could taste like if it weren't fake and nasty...and they leave a bitter aftertaste..... my son loves them though.....

I don't like them either. But look at it this way - we "haters" are one less person in line in front of those who think they are "heaven in a cup."

I also don't like the gummy fake tasting chocolate on the Mickey ice cream bar *ducks and hides*
