Take the pledge to continue to wear a mask during the Covid - 19 pandemic

Same here. I wear them because I have to, and also to make people feel more comfortable. I'm not trying to coordinate them with outfits or anything. The surgical kind is the most breathable so I wear those.
This is me and my DH exactly. I can't stand the idea of a damp, grody cloth mask so we wear non-medical grade disposables provided by my workplace. Our corporate PPE policy provides unlimited masks for employees, their family members and our clients and contractors - anyone we come in regular contact with.

We used to go later in the month when the Concours d'Elegance would come from Road America over to the circle. I always LOVED that evening!! Now it will be in Plymouth.
You were a weekend too early. CdE is at RA next weekend.

I think it would be the stores and businesses that have taken a firm stand that would call...if needed.
Basically it would be trespassing. Which kinda is against the law.

Yes. That's how it works where I live, where we have a state mandate. I'm not sure why a national mandate would be any different.

If that happens, I wouldn’t go anywhere.

It's easy to see the writing on the wall. It's going to be tough for people who don't want it. I imagine the pressure to wear masks that is put on everyone now will be about the same for everyone to take the vaccine.

The wording is tough for me, because I don't always wear one when I "leave my home." - I do always wear one when I go into stores, etc. But I have, for instance, gone without one for a walk in my neighborhood - where we can swing well more than six feet around if we happen to see anyone else out walking. And I don't wear it while in my car. I need an "almost always" option.

More & more stores are requiring masks even in areas that do not have a state/county/city mandate.

If EVERYONE would just wear a dang mask then no mandate would be needed.
I'm not even certain in my town if it is a legal requirement to wear masks in stores or just a strong recommendation. But everyone does it anyway, as the social pressure is overwhelming. Law or no law, I would no sooner go into a store maskless than I would enter nude and coated with body paint.

The masks are here to stay. It's been widely accepted that masks save lives. So, they can save lives from the flu as well, with 5 million cases and 650,000 deaths annually, even with a vaccine.

I think the masks will be continue to be mandated in most of the major stores for the next several years. Probably not so much outdoors once the vaccine has been given to everyone.

Maybe health insurance will start covering masks, at least partially.

Nude or w/body paint would be more accepted than maskless.

Agreed. Maybe a "situational" option. Like I'm at the park with my husband and we're having lunch together or just enjoying our time out with no one in sight and/or anywhere near us...no mask because well why wouldn't make any sense. Going to the grocery store yes I'm wearing a mask but I don't put it on until I'm parked at the store and I take it off when I'm in the car (unless multiple errands are being run) and use hand sanitizer then wash my hands when we get home.

It's not a knock against the survey in so far as the actual question but more the response options. I couldn't truthfully answer always and then the next option is simply "sometimes"..well that would imply that I'm not wearing my masks often but I am but I'm not always..so yup it can go round and round. However, I suspect people may have answered "always" even if they have situations where they aren't wearing a mask.

I thought this was an interesting poll from National Geographic:

https://www.nationalgeographic.com/...20200717&rid=6D2869E1756B0E68DACB2D846D76B4FA
I find this a bit interesting..maybe a bit off I guess from what the numbers are showing.

So demographics-wise even at the time of the survey (which was June 24th-28th of 2,200 adults) reflected that younger people were now really starting to ramp up in the cases (especially those in their 20s).

However the survey reflects 18-34 year olds with 63% showing they always wear masks, in a generational cohort review GenZers (born 1997-2012) 64% showing they always wear masks.

In terms of age group the 65+ who had the highest beat out the 18-34 by 3% (66%) but in the generational cohort review GenZers beat out the other groups with the Baby Boomers coming in 2nd with 63% (so really close).

I just found that an interesting result given the numbers of cases by age aspect.

My opinion: This is what it will be once the vaccine comes out. No vaccine? No entry into Walmart, the airport, restaurant, etc. They might allow people to wear a mask while they are waiting for the vaccine.
I think folks are putting way to much hope in a vaccine. It may be promising but still too much is an unknown.

I think the vaccine will absolutely be required by many employers.
I could also easily see it being a requirement for travel.
Shopping? Maybe.

I didn’t wear one until it was required. But all I did was go to work (no contact with anyone except my boss, and he did not wear one either, everyone else has been keeping separated at work) and come straight home. Ordered everything online. I always said if it was mandatory, I would wear it. Now it is, so now I wear it. I just can’t breathe well when wearing one, plus it’s been so hot here for the past few weeks.
