"crabby" employees better than stupid or lazy

I wouldn't believe the photos any more than the post. The believability has always been dead.

Without established credibility you can't expect anyone to believe such a ridiculous post.

Now the cat picture I believe!

Thie afternoon I received a phone call from a DVC manager to followup on Linda Mitchell's call form OKW last night. She told me that they are taking this very seriously and are checking "lock programs" whatever that means. She called to offer free tickets for my trip which I declined. As far as I'm concerned this topic is dead. DVC is now aware of what happened at a high level and as far as the DIS everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Anyway I'll will take Tamar's advice and make a positive post later today or tommorow. I titled this one after reading the one before about "crabby" employees at OKW and was not familiar enough to realize that hte seguence changes with replies

Glad you finally got someone at DVC to listen to you. The "lock program" might refer to a security measure thay have on the electronic lock on the door. They can tell how many times the front door was opened, at what time, and by what key. So, they can see when the door was opened by a housekeeper or maintenance staff and if anyone entered after the reported cleaning. If someone did, they can determine what type of key opened it - staff or guest. After determining the entrance/exit pattern of the room, they might also check if someone entered from a unlocked balcony door (by process of elimination).

Btw, there was an incidence of theft at OKW a while back with someone getting into the unit from the balcony door - so make sure to keep that door locked.

Thanks for posting your situation, hope you post the good too as you mentioned. I think that too many "trolls" make hit and run posts to make trouble and are never heard from again. And maybe some weren't even trolls. We hear one side of the story, sometimes with no folow up, and are left scratching our heads, chatting with each other and then just deciding that the post was not true. So, we might be a bit jaded. Hope you prove us all wrong.

Thanks also for following up with DVC management. Hopefully your situation will tighten up the quality control at OKW/SSR and benefit us all. The worst thing one can do is complain and not follow through with management - we get a LOT of that around here. But YOU did - so in my mind that sets you apart.

Let us know any updates and about the rest of the trip.

I don't buy it. Also, I am sure you turned down free tickets from disney. :confused3

If it looks like a troll, acts like a troll, smells like a troll, and posts like a troll........then it's probably a troll.

Just subscribing out of interest......

Here's the photos I received and said I would post. I didn't receive any other photos to support the claims on cigarette butts, cigarettes, beer, dirty towels, dirty utensils in the dishwasher.

The photos are:
(1) The tile bathroom floor
(2) The pinup and partial view of the villa

The 3rd picture is a closeup section of picture 2, showing how the pinup was hung on the door.

I have not edited the photos, or cropped them in any way with the exception of blurring the image in photo 2, and resizing them from their original 2592 x 1944 pixels to a size more suitable for posting on the net. (333 x 250 pixels)

Everyone's now free to make up their own mind on this one.

Waaah! I can't see the pictures

ETA- now I can! :goodvibes I'm not sure about those, don't prove much...

What about the dirty towels, ashtray balcony, and junk in the fridge and dishwasher? Miss August would have been the least thing I'd have worried about.

Not totally defending OP, but I have to say we did not take free tix from Disney either! After my DS was hurt in an accident caused by a very careless CM, Disney offered us 5 free tickets. We turned them down because we were not out to get anything for free. (OK, we did accept the Tigger stuffed animal and free ice cream for DS at the time!) We were more concerned about the CM hurting someone else. We overheard the manager on the phone stating that a similar thing happened earlier!

There are still a few people out there that don't think every little thing deserves a law suit or free stuff.

Do to the new evidence that has been presented, I wouldn't be surprised to see the price per point drop back to the $50's by the end of the week. I may have to cancel my next trip.

I don't know...but I don't think it's right to totally discount the OP's account. Nobody wants to think such a thing could happen at Disney, perhaps one of the last bastions of family vacationing. But it's possible mousekeeping didn't really get to the room. I remember years ago (over 12) taking a cruise and while the steward was cleaning the cabin across the hall, seeing the unbelievably dishelvelled state that the room was in. You'd think a hurricane had just blown through. I didn't think people could so trash a room in just days or how they could find anything.

And as far as the behavior of the cast members, I can't begin to imagine just how rude some people are. It would be little wonder that the cast members would get fed up with the behavior of some vacationers. I've seen it; many of us have. It would be hard to take what amounts to abuse, as far as I'm concerned, from people who's attitude is that they've paid a lot of money to go to Disney and they'll behave as they want when they get there. It's a backlash of life's stresses. And no, I'm not condemming everyone, but being a cast member at Disney, where you're supposed to provide magic and a happy face everyday, would have to be difficult at times.

A quick poll...

how many of you, when going on vacation...

1) take/purchase "adult" oriented magazines

AND

2) rip out the centerfold

AND

3) stick it to the wall in your hotel room

AND

4) leave it up for the length of your vacation

AND

5) forget to take it down when you leave

AND

6) think that mousekeeping would leave it up

I don't think this happens very much, if at all. I'm not saying this didn't happen, but it's highly suspicious, IMHO. If it were me working for DVC, the first thing I'd think was that someone planted this stuff in hopes of getting a freebie or an upgrade.

I could easily see some high school or college boys away from home doing that to the room.... not caring what they left behind or what the mess was.

please note i said SOME....

Very true, but if you entered a room to find mousekeeping hadn't cleaned yet, would you go around upset taking pictures or go back to the front desk, explain the error, and ask for another room?

I believe that anything is possible. It is possible that housekeeping didn't clean the very room that happened to be a frat party the night before.

It's possible they had billing problems with a few of their restaurants, and one of them was trying to up their tip.

9 day trip. Came back last week. First post on the 24th. Created a screen name here on the 20th. Photos dated 14th? Thats only a 10 day difference between the first post and the photos. Did they leave the photo up on their bathroom door for a few days into their stay, or just really not know how to set their camera? I would believe that more if they were dated something like Jan 10, 2000.

The beer was BudLite- we wouldn't touch it.
Its possible that this OP would actually think about drinking the beer out of the fridge that someone else left behind who would hang a photo on their bathroom door, regardless of how disgusted they were with the whole thing if it were the right brand.

All of these things are possible. Probable?

Yeah, I would, but I'm not everybody.

I think the resort needs to look at who stayed there last and take it from there. There are lots of slobs out there.

I remember a thousand years ago when I was a freshman in college. I went to a small private college in the Midwest. Lots of the girls were from the East Coast or the NW side of Chicago. These girls never cleaned their rooms or made their beds. They just piled clothes on the floor until Parents' Weekend when their mothers came and cleaned their rooms. I bet they never learned how to make a place look respectable.

This was probably an error is noting this room as cleaned. In June our room at the BCV was cleaned by the staff before 4:30 but we never got notification from the front desk that it was clean for at least an hour later; we didn't get into our room until after 5:30.

Ok... according to the OP the room looked like it had been cleaned (made beds, stack of fresh towels, towel animal) yet there were dirty towels in the closet, dirty dishes in the dishwasher, porno, and lots of cig. butts. I could see housekeeping forgetting towels in the closet, and the red stuff on the bathroom floor BUT....

I really beleive if that picture was there when housekeeping came thru, it would be the first thing they address. In fact, there is no doubt in my mind, if that picture was there, housekeeping would toss it ASAP.... Right. I think that point is a gimme.

So that leaves someone coming in after housekeeping did their thing. ANd that is an issue for securtiy. And a good reminder to keep balcony doors shut and locked. Maybe that point needs to be made again to housekeeping...
